Is anyone watching American Idol???
Moderator: S2k Moderators
I've been watching AI since it started and I think that was the worst singing ever. My favorite is Melinda. If it weren't for "Kiki", Melinda and Jordan, last night would have been a total bust. I've said it from the beginning, Sanjaya is gonna be one of those awful singers that hangs on till the end. It happens every year. You just have to suffer thru it!!!!!lol
I think Stephanie or Brandon will go home and they are by no means the worst singer. What a shame that we have a popularity contest and not a singing contest.

Simon says he'll quit if Sanjaya wins Idol
Posted Mar 14th 2007 10:30AM by Liz Finn-Arnold
Many were shocked when Sanjaya advanced to the Top 12, while Sundance was sent packing last week. But apparently no one was more shocked than Simon Cowell, who said he'll quit the show, if Sanjaya is crowned the next American Idol.
Simon warned, "He's not going to win. I won't be back if he does!"
Last night, Sanjaya gave another monotone performance, droning out "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" while sporting Justin Guarini's bouncy hair. Simon snarked, "When you hear a wail in Beverly Hills, that is where Diana Ross is watching this show."
Unfortunately, the meaner Simon is, the more devoted Sanjaya's fans (or "Fanjayas" as I've heard them called) seem to become. According to dialidol.com, Sanjaya is most likely safe again this week.
As for Simon quitting Idol, I'm sure that won't be necessary. Odds are that Sanj won't go all the way to win this thing. If he does, millions of people will be outraged that popularity trumped talent in what is supposed to be a "singing competition." Luckily for Idol, the surrounding controversy would only pump up the ratings higher -- especially on the night that Simon hands in his resignation.

LOL!

I think it will lose about 20 million of it's viewers if that happens too.

Dial Idol has Sanjaya in the top 3...
http://www.dialidol.com/asp/predictions/Predictions.asp
This show is seriously going downhill. He's right behind Melinda and Lakisha.
Bottom two is Chris Sligh and Stephanie.
Last night:
The latest installment of "American Idol" (households: 16.0/26, #2; adults 18-49: 10.7, #2) and a second hour of "American Idol" (households: 18.1/28, #1; adults 18-49: 12.4, #1) once again swallowed the competition as FOX (households: 17.0/27, #1; adults 18-49: 11.5, #1) remained untouchable.
Same night last year:
FOX (households: 18.4/27, #1; adults 18-49: 13.5, #1) remained head and shoulders above the competition on Tuesday thanks to "American Idol" (households: 17.4/27, #2; adults 18-49: 12.4, #2) and a second hour of "American Idol" (households: 19.5/29, #1; adults 18-49: 14.7, #1).
This is the first season it is down from the previous season.

Actually, this is the only reason I'm watching this season: to see how long "America" can keep Sanjaya in the competition. (Note: I do not vote. I gave it up after Season 2.) It's getting amusing. It's sorta like Season 3, a trainwreck.
FYI, Sanjaya is the this week's canditate for "Vote for the Worst"

...and he was voted off after making it to the top 4.

lurker - have you ever seen/met Clay Aiken? Season 2 was my top Season. The only other winners/runners up doing really well besides Kelly and Clay are Carrie, Bo has a song out but I'm not sure of what else he's been up to and Chris. Oh and JENNIFER HUDSON! Ruben has a great voice but has had problems with his other albums and concerts. Fantasia is like listening to someone scratch a chalk board and Taylor, nice guy but...
I'll be watching tonight to see who gets the boot. I hope it's not Chris Sligh or Phil, though I don't think that they will get close to the top either.

I will actually defend me and the rest of America's voters for a sec. The bottom 2 were correct. Either Brandon or Sanjayah was going to go home tonight..
I'm actually very happy 4 Haley.. If she survives next week.. she'll get the priviledge to go on tour with the top 10.. I'd rather see her than Sanjayah..
Please America.. lets send Sanjayah home!
