(In fact, I made chocolate chip cookies for my husband and sister but didn't eat any because it would have been a waste of cookies! )

Winds howled and temps dropped rapidly here today. It was cold, but only in the low 40s. We had been getting used to mild wx again!
Anyway I made a simple meal, that a family member told me about once:
Turkey or Pork Sausage, sliced (Hillshire)
Sauerkraut
Potatoes (peeled or unpeeled, halved or quartered)
Carrots (or you can use green beans, I was out of them for tonight's meal)
Whole cloves (about a handful)
2 cups of chicken or vegetable bouillon (Knorr's)
brown sugar to taste (I add about 1/4th cup)
Bring to a boil, simmer covered for 30-45 minutes until vegetables are done. Sausage is already cooked.
Add corn bread and a salad of some sort (slaw, tossed, cottage cheese) and you have a complete meal. Your house will smell like kraut though!
