Sandi - never a dull moment in your household, huh? I imagine you've had your fill of docs, ER's, hospitals, etc. LOL

Hang in there. I'm impressed by your strength too! That's the spirit - don't let it get you down. Keep going. That was my motto 4 years ago and I kept replaying my Gastro Doc's words in my head - you're going to live another 50 years Mary. I cracked up at that, and had to remind him I was only 43 then. Thru tears of course. He let me cry on the phone a few times, bless his heart. Sure wish he could have been my surgeon, but he's a Gastro specialist, only doing routine procedures, not surgery. He's this little old guy, probably near retirement now, 5 foot, gray hair and he has this thick Jewish accent (he was born in Israel I think). He sees me once a year for my colonoscopies. Whatever helps you Sandi, hold onto it. His words got me thru a lot.

Good morning Sandi....from each new sunrise comes a new ray of hope and fresh opportunity. On those days when you can find humor in an accident and promise in His hands, you are a source of strength for each of us, too! We never get more than we can handle...but at times it is nevertheless overwhelming.

Keep your faith strong, follow through with the doctor's visits, and lean on the pillars on this front porch. They seem to be solid as oak.

BTW, Mary...you have a wonderful way of helping us all keep the right perspective too! Never underestimate your value to others on the board...

Thanks Steve. So many people sent me notes, cards, letters of encouragement back then. Phone calls too. It got to be overwhelming at times. You just can't talk cancer/or med talk 24/7. I remember 2 weeks before my surgery, buying paint to paint Laura's room. A friend saw me at the store, 2 gallons in my hand. She did a doubletake - I said, hey I really need something normal right now. I'm going to turn on some music, open the windows and paint away. I forgot my probs for a few days there.

I like to lend encouragement now to others, and "pay it forward", so to speak. To steal a line from a movie. When so many people reach out to you, you just naturally want to do the same for others. I really don't like to get praise for doing this. I'd rather sit and listen to what they're going thru and try to help in some small way. Thanks though for the kind words Steve!

Thanks once again! Update;
I am going in Monday to schedule the biopsy. The other treatment has not yielded results and the side effects are making me miserable. The oncologist has been in close contact with my doctor and we all agree that the biopsy is the next step. I will have to go under general anesthesia because of the pain that will be involved. We will try to schedule it for Thursday of next week so that I can have the week-end for recovery. The result will be in the following week and we will go from there. I am praying for the best possible results and I also know that God is with me no matter what the medical tests reveal. He has never given me more than I can handle even though I felt like it. I have gotten through all the other challenges in my life and I will get through this one too. With all of your prayers and well wishes, how could I not be ok? You are ALL the best and I appreciate all you are doing in prayer for me. I will keep you all updated.

I like your way of thinking! You have such a great take on your own situation. Thinking positive makes positive results. Therefore, I am praying for everything to be ok. I just know it will be. Hang in there.

Sandi,

I have not been ignoring your plight...not at all! I was, however, temporarily "engaged" with our own problems...please know(!) that my prayers ARE with you as you go in for your biopsy. I have had a few myself; they were temporarily miserable, but you DO need to know...better to get a comprehensive and accurate diagnosis without waiting "too long", OK?

The biopsy is scheduled for Friday morning. They will take the biopsy and test it for cancer while I am under, if it IS cancer, the surgery is over. If it is not then they will proceed to remove the growth. They will keep me over night for pain management and I will be home Saturday. What a way to spend Labor Day week-end huh? Thanks for all the prayers and I will let you all know what happens.

Why won't they remove the growth if it is cancer? You may have said something earlier about that.

It's ashame about the upcoming holiday having to be recouperating from surgery, but if it isn't cancer, it'll probably be one of your best holidays yet! I'll have everything crossed and be saying some prayers!
