when i would come home, the other kittens would be feeding and blackie would be in a corner whimpering. i would make sure he got to feed. tan was rather aggressive and would push blackie away. i would pick blackie up in my hand and kiss him and tell him i would never let anything bad happen to him

That's definitely a good reflection Helen, certainly proves that you loved Blackie a bunch and he loved you also. As an animal lover I always love to hear such stories like that because I have 4 cats, all boy cats. One of my cats I call big daddy. His real name is Willy. I nick name him big daddy because he's the oldest 4 years old and he's also the biggest in size, but a beautiful cat. I have situations with Willy that are exactly the same as Blackie because the three other cats want to eat and eat and eat leaving Willy behind in a whimpering state. It's something we can relate to and I understand that feeling.
Blackie is one that won't be forgotten because of how loveable he was and our prayers go out to you Helen. (hug to you Helen)

Im so sorry to hear about your kitty Helen. Animals have a special place in our hearts, they are non judgemental and seem to be able to read our moods better than a lot of people we live with. I lost a dog before I moved to the US a few years ago. She really was a part of me, and I still miss her.
Hang in there, it takes time for the hurt to go, but it does and then all the happy times stay in our memories.

You will continue to do that because you are not over Blackie's death yet. Not saying that is bad or anything, just stating that as a fact.
I hope you feel and get better soon Helen!

Helen, I'm so sorry to hear of Blackies journey across the Rainbow Bridge.
Pets are like the Good Lord's own presence in our lives.
Please take heart in knowing that you provided Blackie with a loving home.
The memories of Blackie should always warm you...that's what they're for.
I pray for your comfort from your sorrow.

Kitty Heaven
Oh Helen, my heart goes out to you. I'm very sorry about Blackie. If it's any consolation, just imagine Blackie is in kitty heaven playing with all the other kitties, warm, safe and secure...He's probably climbing the kitty Christmas tree and knocking down ornaments! Or he may be hanging with the kitty club, plotting how to play a trick on all the heaven doggies...
