What is the big deal with handling of the Koran--is it like not letting the American Flag touch the ground. So someone destroys your Koran/Bible.... Go to the store and buy another one instead of being a crybaby about it to the whole world This is a silly news story

My comments were not directed at you Beer. If we insult each other or make personal attacks it is one thing, but because someone has an opinion that is a bit radical, I do not think it should get them censored.

I think you just did respond. I don't understand why you can not "respond" here. Just keep it within the rules of the board and respectful. This is a news item thread. However, it is becoming "edgy" towards not being allowed due to the labeling that is beginning to appear.

I like this quote. I also think in terms of the Commandment "Love thy neighbor". Calling others Satan because of their beliefs is rather myopic at best. Our country was built on the belief that you should have the freedom to worship without prejudice or fear from retaliation from our gvorenment. Some people never get it, never will get it and never WANT to get it because they only think that what they think is right. There's no middle. That's also known as EXTREMISM.

I second that. This topic has turned into a flashing red light and could get locked or removed.

We all have different opinions about stuff and generally they can get aired. Here's something to think about though: You give your opinion, and others give their opinions. If someone has an opinion that's way different than yours, do you really think that you're going to change their way of thinking by arguing about it? What do you think that you're going to gain by "proving" the other person wrong? You need to accept the fact that people think differently and you're not going to change their mind. It's interesting to hear what other people have to say, but we should all know by now that no one "wins" an argument on a message board.

I don't think we're humane at all... we're over there killing innocent people, looking for terrorists in the most irresponsible and disrepectful way possible. I am sorry if I offend, I know a lot of people here have kids who are out there fighting-- and those soldiers should be respected and supported completely, but I don't think our government should have them out there fighting this cultural war amidst civilians. And as for flushing a holy document, well, it's the cultural symbolism that's so inflamatory-- it's a sign of the US's disrespect. Bush called their culture "barbaric" the other day, but it's just different. Their religion is as valid as mine. IMHO
