The united states had made a lot decisions in the past few years on "fear" and not facts please. This country has been driven to make decisions based on fear of being attacked.

Thanks. I'm just disappointed in the fearmongering on Capitol Hill.

The same fear mongering that has been going on since 9/11. We see it on tv, radio and in the newspaper a lot of the time. No wonder america made a decision based on fear and not facts. The media sucks and you know it.

Yep. However, that's the message we've been getting from the top as well and what has been sold since 9/11. The war on terror is a continuous war, within our country and outside. There will be no end because there's always going to be people that will hate us. We had BETTER make sure though we can protect our house though - that should be #1.

Just one more thing on that topic. Just as long as we are over there we are creating our own "New" enemies for years to come. I'm afraid that the military option was not the right way to go. I think we should have spent 500 Billion on trying to destroy al queda and not going into iraq blowing the crap out of it and then trying to clean up. I think we should have made deals with other arab countries that would allow us to work with them and take out the terrorist with their help. We not fighting terrorism in Iraq and besides it's just one country of more than a few handfulls of countries that have terrorists living in them.

Also, many of the so-called "Iraq" terrorists are actually more Iran than Iraq.

I wasnt go to post again, but here's a new development, courtesy ABC News:

The White House asked Dubai Ports World, a company owned by the United Arab Emirates, to give up its management stake in U.S. ports, to save President Bush from the politically difficult position of vetoing a key piece of legislation to protect America's ports, ABC News has learned.
When the company announced Thursday that it would sell its management stake in six U.S. ports, it was a stunning defeat for Bush, who had put his political capital on the line to back the deal, ABC News chief Washington correspondent George Stephanopoulos said.

"Certainly, it's the most significant break with the Republican leadership in the Congress this term," he said.

The Democrats — suddenly feeling united — insist the scuttled ports deal is proof that the White House is weakened and divided against its own party.

"They couldn't hold their forces on the other side," said Sen. Frank Lautenberg, D-N.J., "and this is a retreat under fire, make no mistake."

"[Capitol] Hill was leading the charge," Stephanopoulos said. "They've been telling the White House for three weeks, 'This deal is dead. We're going to override you.'"

With victory in hand, leading Republicans insist there are no hard feelings.

"In all fairness, I'm not going to be a Monday-morning quarterback," said Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., chairman of the Homeland Security Committee. "It's all over now."

Sen. John Warner, R-Va., agreed.

"I think this incident is behind us, and we will go forward," he said.

If any of these racist thugs get re-elected then it just shows how low the morals of our country have declined in these recent years...

Lol, I've been pretty edgy in this thread; no one's fault though. I think some of that nervous energy waiting for the SU-Georgetown game tonight is making its way into a few of my posts.

I'll try to tone it down.

By "racist thugs" I assume you mean "congresspeople concerned for national security".

Ah, yes it is. Let's lighten this up a bit.
