DaylilyDawn - told hubby at 4:30 this morning to call him and if he is the one to call the cops (I'm sure by this time that he has seen the pic on tv).

More info received - Hillsborough County Schools are on a modified lockdown. *quote "Although we have no specific or confirmed information that our county schools are in any danger, we are asking you to implement the following modified lockdown procedures until further notice" end quote*
That is from the chief of security from the district.

There are times like this when I really don't like working for the school system. Makes you all jittery.

Feederband - how are ya'll doing over there?

Just heard on a local station that they got him. I'll try to find more details and post them here.

One of the shots that Officer Williams received was behind his right ear, execution style. The suspect delibertly disabled Officer Williams so he could not escape and then executed him. I am so glad that the supect was killed . This is one time a criminal got what he deserved.

Agreed!
However, looks like his family doesn't. They have hired an attorney and are supposed to hold a news conference this afternoon. From what I heard on T.V. - they want an investigation of the Polk County Sheriff's office. I couldn't find a link of what I heard this morning - just this one.

Dizzy, can you smell a wrongful death claim? I think his family will lose this suit in court.
Feederband I am with you on this thinking.

Daylily - I don't know if that's what they are going to try for - I think it may be more along the lines of 1) the number of times he was shot and/or 2) contending that they never intended to bring him in alive and/or 3) the comment the sheriff made about the number of rounds fired. (they only fired 110 rounds because they ran out of ammo (which I personally had no problem with him saying)).

This is my take on this case: Criminals who kill a law enforcement officer and a K-9 officer(dog was considered a deputy also) to get out of a traffic stop, deserve what ever happens to them when the cops catch up with them. If he was not guilty of any crime, why was he using false names , giving false information to deputies, why would he kill?

I applauded the statement that they would of shot more if they had more bullets.. This guy would of killed every officer he could of given the chance.. Why give him the chance.. Blast away.. They did right

They saved money..... 110 bullets costs less than housing this low life and trying him in a court room....there was NO doubt he was the one. Did anybody see what he looked like..... A THUG[/b]

Well - they had their conference. Said they aren't going to sue. (not sure I believe that at this point) They just want to know why he was shot so many times. Huh :?:

Anyway - here is the link.

What are they going to sue for.........double body bagging him because there was nothing left but a bloody mash for them to take back to Atlanta??? These people like to get their 15 seconds of fame stating that they want an investigation... next they will be saying that he basically was a good guy, and had a minute lapse in judgement when he shot those two cops and the dog...ooops. I think they should drag his dead body through the streets of Atlanta saying this is what happens to thugs that come to Florida and shoot cops!!!
