He openend this place right after 9/11 when all of us needed comfort, warmth and a safe place to sit around and talk with wonderful friends. We've decorated this place for Christmas and had picnics and parties on the front porch. I love it here.

I'm going to brew a pot of Earl Grey and sit back and wait for Miss Mary to arrive. I brought some sticky buns with pecans for breakfast. Help yourselves!!!

I'm here, I'm here!!!! I need to sit a spell. You know how you just bump your elbow/funny bone and it hurts like you know what? Well, I caught the edge of a doorknob with my left hand and wham, it's puffed up. It hurt like the dickens before work but after 3 minutes, pain went away. And I continued getting ready for work. FF to about 2 hours later and I noticed I must have bruised a vein. Oh lovely - I work in a school cafeteria for crying out loud - so people SEE your hands! LOL It doesn't really hurt, it will go down I'm sure but man, another clumsy moment for me. I was carrying a laundry basket and hit the dang door knob. Good thing it wasn't my ankle - oh no, jinxed myself now. I'd better sloooooow way down (yep I was hurrying before work, trying to do chores!).

Thanks for the tea Karan.

Grimmy - aww thanks! I put a heating pad on it and voila, it's much better (ice did not work!). Last time I'm hurrying before work. I'm serious, I've sprained my ankles so many times. I'm on my feet in that cafeteria, we never sit - ha! Let's see, I think we own one chair and it's my boss' office chair. LOL!

I'm much better now. Psyched for TV tonight, the Office looks so good and it's a nasty, rainy night here in Cincinnati. Great night to stay in.

Bobbie's here! :D Karan, is there any tea left? I could really go for a sip, and I do believe I'll partake of a corner of Granny's afghan for these 'ritis-riddled knees. My workday had been most unkind to the old joints. :( Gee, I didn't bring any KKs but I've got a pocket full of peanut butter cups to share. Uh, oh -- now I'm getting sleepy. If I nod off, please don't let me fall into the stove.

I'd love to come in and have a cup of Karan's Earl, but, as Miss Mary suggested,
I might RUN if there's any "shootin' the breeze" goin' on!

I'll leave some s'mores for anybody that wants some!

Thanks for firing up the stove, Dennis - I was freezing for warmth and
good folks!

She also guards my private arsenal, lets me know when any living thing gets within 200 yards, and NEVER leaves my side 24/7/365. 8-)

Bill - yeah, she looks so ferocious, quite the guard dog.......LOL Something tells me she might bark a blue streak, but that tail would wagging. I could eat her up, she's so cute.

Speaking of dogs, Bobbie - your Golden is beautiful! We have one, Hope is darker and is 6 now. Her face is nearly white with gray, but her spirit is all puppy. She isn't slowing down but her face shows her age. I am such a dog lover now, particularly Goldens first and foremost, then Labs.

Bill - Hope is my shadow, she's with me when I'm home. All the time. So cute. Isn't it nice to have a dog around?

Well, it's Friday folks - yeah!!!!! Looking forward to having more than 6 hours of sleep tonight - woohoo!

As you all know I can't quite find the available time for S2K browsing, posting, fun as I used to. And I miss it! Truly I do......anyway, I'm having a sentimental moment here. PM'ing back and forth with sunny (like old times). I'm just feeling so appreciative we all have a safe, fun, family type message board like S2K - that's pretty darn rare in today's world!

Okay, enough S2K praise....he he Just had to say all that.

I remember now! Nice name! Obviously I'd think that......but this Mary doesn't run fast! LOL I do power walk fast thought. I can just picture your Mary running. You must have a large lot or acreage so she can get her exercise.

I remember that picture Bill! What a great one it is. :D

Mary looks like a happy dog Bobbie Lee!

Miss Mary - I cringed reading about your elbow. How's the job going? Are you enjoying it?

We had some heavy rain this morning and then the wind announced the new cold front. It seems like the colors on the trees have popped overnight. It's starting to really look and feel like fall. Now, hopefully this will be the last of the wind so the leaves will stay up there for a while.

I brought some brownies - help yourself. They're going well with the Chardonney I'm drinking now. TGIF!!

Was in Evesham earlier for a symposium, was pouring like mad, then when I left that wind was awful! Seems to have died down a little tonight, but just took a step outside, brrrrr, it's getting cold! Think I'll mozie over to the stove to get my toosies warm, they feel frostbitten!

I took the Betsy Ross, (the Ben Franklin & Walt Whitman are way out of my way)I was not even going to attempt the Tacony Palmyra, yeah that would have been closer, but it's not wide enough and that wind was pushing my Nissan Quest all over the road

Tell ya one thing I noticed, gas at the Getty right at the Tacony P when you come into NJ was $1.85, at the Lukoil when you come in from the Burlington-Bristol it was $1.93 yesterday when I went to work, and their not that far apart from each other!

Annabelle (she be a ho') worships at the "Temple of Ahrrr-Ahrrr", where she learned to put the GRRR! back in "girl". :ggreen:

Steph - it's the top of my left hand actually. When I bumped it on a door knob, it hurt similar to hitting your elbow. That's what I compared the brief pain to. Then it went away. Now I'm left with a black and blue hand, and some swelling. Swells during the day when of course I use my hands - like right now typing. LOL!

It's getting better. We have very high co-pays and deductibles, have for abou 4 or 5 years now. We just no longer run to doctors' unless we have to! I keep looking at my good right hand and thinking, wow I must have really wacked this one part (a vein I suspect). The lesson I learned is to take it slow before leaving for work - I was hurrying a few chores. Bad idea!

I have Fall Cleaning on my to do list today. Thankfully the hand is much better now!

Thanks Steph.

Lukoil ALWAYS charges more for the gas. The discrepancies in gas prices are all over. That Getty station is probably always low so if you need gas, stop there. There's the usual ones that are always higher than others. You just have to know where they are.

My town, for some reason, is always a few cents higher than some others around me.

You probably did break a blood vessel then Miss Mary. OUCH!!

Just take it easy with the fall cleaning because it'll probably be swelling again.

I'm going to put my compost that I've been making all year into my gardens today and do some shrub trimming. The temps are much cooler than yesterday but sunny.

Also, we have a Halloween party to go to next Saturday. The theme is 60's and 70's style - how EASY is that??? I've picked up a peace sign necklace and matching earrings, large white rimmed sun glasses, denim hobo bag, 70's style tattoos and I'm going to attempt to tie dye a tee shirt later. I've haven't done that since home-ec!
