Melinda and Blake were amazing. I'm sorry but I think Sanjaya did good enough that they'll vote him in for another week. I think Phil will go home. I feel bad about that.

Although I think Sanjaya was still lousy, he did a better job than usual. I think you have it right Karan, unfortunately. At least all the little girls will have someone to cry about when the top 10 tour.

LOL, sure America is smart enough. I think the producers have decided it needs Sanjaya on the tour to rake in the 10-12 year olds' "money". And yes, I do believe the producers manipulate the vote on AI, (hence the reason I don't vote anymore). Why show the girl? It was something out of the old films of the Beatles' concerts with all the crying fans.

I think this week it will be Phil or Stephanie. Because (leaving Sanjaya out of the equation), they were the weakest.

Nailed it right on the head, IMO. Same reason I do not vote either.

Sanjaya could've been better...

The crying girl was shown way to much during one song... it seemed producers were board of sanjaya.

I thought it was cute. The girl must be on cloud nine after meeting him and getting a hug.

I think it will be Stephanie. If not, then maybe Phil or Gina. I love Phil's voice, but I'm not sure he has enough fans. I guess we'll see shortly.

More about the crying girl:

After the show, I chatted with Idol’s newest superstar, the crying girl, Ashley Ferl, aged 13, from Riverside. For some long minutes after the show, Ashley remained in a state of inconsolable sobbing, unable to choke out a single word. However, through an interpreter (her mother) we were eventually able to learn some facts about the young superstar.

The family, I was told, obtained tickets on a website to attend a taping of “Smarter Than a 5th Grader” a day passage that included not just the taping of the show itself, but also the dress rehearsal of either “Grader” or “Idol.” The fates were kind, and the mother and daughter found their way to the “Idol” rehearsal, where Ashley’s waterworks began. Her prowess was quickly brought to the attention of “Idol” producers who summoned the clan to a ringside seat of honor at the final taping.

Sanjaya, Haley, and Gina are safe.

Sanjaya saved himself by "letting loose".

I don't like Chris Richardson's voice - it's too whiny. He reminds me of being a part of one of the "boy bands".

lurker - it was obvious that they were taking advantage of Ashley's reaction while the show was on, but that story definately shows how far AI will go. I still think it was cute though.

the results show is always too rushed...they try to put too much stuff into the show without focussing on what is really important.
