Steph - check your PM's. I've had many colonoscopies, so I can share with you what to expect. The prep is the worst part and the procedure in itself isn't anything to be alarmed about. If you can tolerate an IV, then that's the worst of it. Again, I'll send you a PM.
Hugs going out to you.

Thank you so very much, Steph, Steve, Donna and David!
I think the world of you and other Storm2K Wxbuddies here in this Family!
Lela and I came out feeling very well after the e-mail exchange and we'll always be the best of friends, too.
I think very highly of her, manager Glenn and my co-workers Archie, Randy and Andy!
I have some breaking news concerning my folks and I elsewhere in this forum titled Raleigh Here We Come!
For someone in moving transition there's naturally mixed feelings but like Shannon (Furluvcats) has said earlier elsewhere regarding her, Brian and the kids move to California...it's all in God's timing and in His Will!
Yes, I will dearly miss my copy center and church friends but living only an hour and 45 minutes (from Roa Rpds) isn't too bad and they're be plenty of visits!
You're requests are in my prayers and thoughts, too.
God Bless You,
Eric

Many prayers to you all!!
Steph, keep us posted and Miss Mary helped me through a very rough time and I think the world of her!! She is an angel on earth!
Jeremy, you stay in my prayers my friend!! Keep me posted, how is your stepdad?
Eric, it sounds like God is working for you and that is always enough to make tough decisions and transitions alot easier.
I am sorry for my absence the last few weeks, my last class really kicked my rear-end and had to buckle down.
Take care everyone and it is good to be back!

I think the world of her as well! Thanks Sandi!
Awww, you guys, Sandi and Steph you have me tearing up!!! Thanks. You see, I didn't even know about online message boards or medical sites to go to when I was facing surgery for colon cancer. And I also couldn't find a specific actual support group in my community for colon cancer either! Many for breast cancer but not colon. So I've found my way now, almost 5 years later (my big 5 year, all clear, April 29th date is soon upon me, wooohooo!!!) but back then I made a promise to myself to get people to their doctor's if they have concerns or had a parent die from colon cancer. No one wants a colonoscopy, no one. Not even me, truth be told but it is the best tool docs have to view the entire colon and I know now how very important they are. So I've been on a personal mission since 1999 to answer all or any question people have. I'd like to think I politely encourage people, not hound them. And being Stage 1 too, gives people reason to consult doctors too! I had a great outcome with no treatment (well my diet is now all crazy but other than that, still cancer free) so when people know my story, they think hey maybe I need to see my doc......so thanks you two. I don't do any of this for pats on the back, I just feel real good knowing I was able to encourage someone to see their doctor or I was able to help someone out when they were facing a worrisome medical situation. And you'll both pass that along to others I'm sure.

EDIT; OOPS, hitting "submit" twice will post it twice!! LOLOLOL!!
Sandi - the way I looked at it back then, I could either A. feel sorry for myself, why me type thinking or B. learn from it, deal with it, and ultimately help others. I had a very kind ostomy nurse (yes I had a temp colostomy for 2 months back then too) who sat with me on my weepiest day. I could not stop crying, all day long. I think it was hitting me full force all that had happened to me. I wanted to be home with my children, I didn't want major, painful surgery and I certainly didn't want a colostomy either! But she held my hand, had tears in her eyes and showed me such sincere kindness that day. She asked me if I wanted phone calls, I said NO! She stopped all incoming calls. Then asked if I wanted visitors. I said NO! Other than my husband Jim and my Dad (God rest his soul, he was deceased then by 11 years), I wanted no one in that room. Yes I was so delirious with pain I wanted my dad with me, that's when my brothers said they knew I was in bad shape. I can smile now about it! I'd like to think my dad was right there, beside me. Anyway, she went promptly to the nurse's station, told them to stop all visitors before entering my room (I had virtually no privacy either, they were lifting my gown constantly to check on something, stitches, ostomy, etc.) and put a big sign up on my door - STOP, Please report to nurses desk before entering. And shut my door - heaven!!! My door had been left open before that. So you see when one nurse (and I had many, many kind nurses) stands out like that, when you get better, you just say to yourself - I want to give back to others in need too! And so that's been my motto all these years later. So again, please don't praise me too much. That phrase - pay it forward - comes to mind. To imagine the other extreme - wallowing in self pity - is unthinkable to me now! I had many nice people help me back then. You just do not forget that, not at all.
Steph - we'll all get you thru this! Sandi will help too! You're on my prayer list already!
Mary
PS - I'll tell you all something else my ordeal showed me, I ask now if someone wants visitors in the hospital before I go up. Nowadays they keep you for very short times (although I was in a total of 12 days back then) and patients are often in bad shape, I used to think oh I'll go in and cheer up Mrs. Smith. Well, I don't do that now! So if I had anything to suggest is to ask if a patient even wants visitors first and foremost. Okay, I'll get off my soapbox now. he he

No, stay on that soapbox Miss Mary!!
There's no better person to learn from than someone that has already been down that road. It is a very important test to be sure. We've also seen that some of the other members like Poppysky have been through this as well.
Actually, my ex-husband had surgery to remove a large tumor from his intestine. Fortunately, it was benign, but it was found with the colonoscopy.

For anyone interested in what I will need to undergo tomorrow, here are some links to information regarding Urodynamics and VCUG's:

I hope so too...but the reality for now is it will be part of my life for a couple months...as well they could not tell me the real reason for the tremors I have in my hands...they say I have to be showing more definite signs of shunt malformation (absolute WORST case scenario) or the ACM (which I've mentioned before) before they can figure out where to go from here...BTW if the worst case occurred, I'd likely be in the hospital for a couple weeks, and that's only IF they catch it in time and IF it don't kill me first, there's really no way to know if that's the issue.

Please pray for some friends of my family here in Roanoke Rapids, their names are David and Pat...their son Bob who is in the NC Army National Guard was deployed with his unit from Ft. Bragg on Tuesday afternoon to Kuwait for 2 to 3 days and then from there to somewhere up around the Iraq/Turkey border for a year. Bob is married with two kids and he and I go back several years as we both know each other from a church we used to be members of here in Roa Rpds and were in the young adult college and careers SS class together. Bob has a brother David Jr. (DJ) who is retired from the Air Force, too. Also, a sister named Kim.
