Where is Tick----a's response on question 5???

Probably the weakest forecasting area is strength. While the models are all over the place sometimes, NHC has gotten much better with the overall track forecast since I first started watching hurricanes seriously in the mid-late 90's. The forecast strength still leaves a lot to be desired. :-) It seems that one weakness in the current strength forecasting is the lack of detailed data on the surface heat pool. The only way I can see that improving in the short term is a wide use of temperature measuring sensors dropped in the path of the storm.

Sorry - my family life has been really hectic and so has my job. Daughter wants to play softball this year - so guess what that means...practices, games and team meetings....

I'll response later tonight.

You might want to bring Marva in on this.

If you win, how do you plan to decorate the White House and why? For example, will you go for Victorian? Colonial? Santa Fe? Cottage? Japanese?

I think I will go for the Northwoods look. It encompasses alot of different family living styles - something for the fisherman, something for the nature lover and something for the comfort lover....Greens and beiges with red hues - plaids to accent. I will be bring the nature indoors to the White House.

Marva if you have anything to add - please feel free to make a post.

What do you believe is the biggest weakness in hurricane forecasting and how would you fix it?

The weakness point of hurricane forecasting is trying to follow the models out further than 4 days. When all the models start show consistency in the path, strength and direction - then the forecast is more reliable. So forecasting anything out of the four day envelope via the models is a serious weakness in the hurricane forecasting agenda.

The strength of this site are the members. They strive to make it a place where people want to come and exchange ideas, thoughts and comments on weather, off-topic and greetings. The family atmosphere makes it stand out from other boards.

The weaknesses we have are that we are still newbies - just over a year old and still trying to prove ourselves - but this will be turned into a positive as we mature and gain faithful members who stand behind us no matter what....

My aspirations for storm2k as President is to be the best site on the internet!!!!!!!! I won't take nothing less.

VOTE PATRICIA FOR PRESIDENT.........

The greatest strength of S2K is it's family atmosphere. Despite the wide array of ages, geographic locations, political views and backgounds we have found a common point of reference for us all. Our love of mother nature's fury has allowed us to get to know each other on so many other plains. Our only weakness is in the winter weather area. Since so many of us came together originally from the tropical boards, we're naturally stronger there. However, our wildest dream was to finish our first year with 500 members. We eclipsed that by more than 500 and are now rapidly approaching 1500! My goal for the site is to continue to grow and expand while maintaining the spirit that the board was founded under. Enjoyment for all and as the weather community's NO TROLL ZONE :-)

With the MTV hints at something shocking going to happen and the obvious lack of surprise on Janet's part there's no doubt in my military mind that it was planned. At least they could have admitted that and begged forgiveness instead of putting out the obvious lies. "Wardrobe failure"...give me a friggen break!
