So assuming they are what you say they are,

Nothing to assume... the facts speak for themselves. He's on record all over the place, Reuters, AP, UPI, etc. etc. claiming the holocaust never happened, and advocating that Israel be wiped off the face of the earth. Any cursory search will show that these are anything but assumptions--they are facts.

what motivation do they have to stop their nuclear program? Why should they stop it, from their point of view?

Perhaps they might just realize that this could wind up potentially very ugly. The fact is that for a nation as obviously full of ethnic hatred as their leadership appears to be, a nuclear weapon is, no pun intended, a bomb simply waiting to go off. Of course that would be presuming they were capable of rational thought.

Or claim they stopped their program, then do it in secret, become "friends" with us and other countries, then stab them in their backs...if he is crazy...that would be a good "crazy" plan...or sell all the stuff they know so far behind everyones backs on the black market and let terrorists have the plans...(craziness either way...IMHO)

After the imbroglio in Iraq, and now in Afghanistan; I doubt seriously anything will be done whether above board or in secret. IMO Iran will develop their nukes, nobody's going to do a thing about it... and given enough time, just as when other madmen were allowed to run unchecked... world peace will pay a dear price. JMHO.

No surprise in my view here as Iran rejects the talks with the U.S.They say what the U.S is a propaganda move.

Some points our media doesn't point out as to why Iran won't budge on it's nuclear program.
Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty
Iran is a signatory state of the NPT and has recently as of 2006 resumed development of its uranium enrichment program, ostensibly for its civilian nuclear energy program, as it is entitled to do under the terms of the NPT.

[url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran%27s_nuclear_program#_note-gen2010]Originally started under the Shah of Iran in the 1950s, with the help of the United States, the Iranian nuclear programme is an effort by Iran to develop nuclear technology. After the 1979 revolution, the programme was temporarily disbanded. It was soon resumed, albeit with less Western assistance than the pre-revolution era. Iran's current nuclear programme consists of several research sites, a uranium mine, a nuclear reactor, and uranium processing facilities that include a uranium enrichment plant. The Iranian government asserts the programme's only goal is to develop the capacity for peaceful nuclear power generation, and plans to generate 6000MW of electricity with nuclear power plants by 2010

They won't take the carrot, they'll scoff at it... and they don't fear the stick. JMO

How many times has Iran "said" they would resume talks... resume negotiations, not do this... not do that... do this... or do that.... only to renege at the earliest opportune time... no way am I buying this one. Dearly hope I'm proven wrong; but don't expect to based on precedent.

You know I have been saying this for quite awhile but most don't seem to listen. I bet if you ask around you won't find anyone that heard the news story or agrees with it. This administration will do what they want in the end. If you really look into it and do some thinking we are on the edge of a "soft dictatorship" now.

Iran is buying time to delay things about the latest proposal to them from the Europeans.

I think the UN is a joke. Look at all the resolutions they gave to Iraq and Iraq just snubbed the UN. North Korea knows the UN will not do anything. Just my opinion.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad warned on Friday that continued Israeli strikes against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip could lead to an "explosion" in the Islamic world that would target Israel and its supporters in the West.

Again, Ahmadinejad questioned Israel's right to exist. "This is a fake regime ... it won't be able to survive. I think the only way (forward) is that those who created it (the West) take it away themselves," the president told a rally in Teheran in support of Palestinians.

Iran's president again talks about Israel's right to excist.
