Do you mean just in the area of concern now or throughout the world?...I believe that D Day and the bombing of Japan were just a little larger scale and more meaningful than what is going on in Lebanon right now.

Yes, back then there were no warning for natural disaster, millions died like the big tsunami we just had this past year. There was no communication thousands of years ago. People did not about about Pompey across the world. Our planet has indications of millions of people dying, diseases, and even our little friends the dinasaurs. Times were just as bad back then.

Yes, I am worried about what is going on. There is too much going on now all at the same time. Iran, North Korea, and all these missles being shot off. What scares me is, are there outsiders involved in this too. I do not trust anyone.

I do think all of this is thousands of years old. People love to say that the world has never been worse than it is today. I'd say it's more likely that it's never been better. There have been horrible things for all of existence. There is a big difference today though: worldwide media. In the past people only knew what happened to their neighbors and a very few major events outside of their own town. Today we hear about every horrible little thing, so naturally, the world seems worse.
