UGH! Medical reality vent time! (Literally...vent, as in ventilator)

Okay, first of all, please tell me they are not calling the ambu bag by the archaic term "hand pump?" *shakes head in disbelief*

Secondly, Victor would not be talking that well if he had just pulled out the orotracheal tube. There's a balloon-like cuff on the end that is inflated when the tube is in position past the vocal cords. It keeps the tube in position and seals the airway so positive pressure gets the oxygen into the lungs. When he pulled it out, I didn't see an inflated balloon on the end. If it had been (and doing its job correctly), he would have hurt his throat and not been able to speak that well.

And finally, Jake said Victor was suffering from third-degree burns. One of the first rules of thumb is to intubate a burn patient and KEEP THEM intubated. If the airway swells up due to the burns, it can make intubation next to impossible.

Eh, nevermind...he died. I'm not surprised.

It's a SHOW for heavens sake...just like CSI Yeah, some stuff on CSI is pretty *factual* most of the time it's shear B.S.!!

NOW....the streak at the end of the show? From the sound of it, to me, it sounded like a jet of some sorts!

I could have swore those two streaks at the end of the show were ICBM's being launched form US soil. I could be wrong but my guess is some type of counter strike....but that could be just a bit too obvious.

Question - does anyone know of a possible Jericho Marathon coming up? I ask this because, this is the very type of drama I would like. I caught 15 minutes of it one night but I have over 9 hours of weekly shows to watch as it is. I could get into this show if they aired all the episodes in a row (to get caught up). I saw an upcoming marathon for another new show. I'm just hoping there will be one for this show.

It's defintely something I've thought about. I really want to go into Meteorology, but Journalism could always be something if that doesn't work out.

That exactly what they were...some sort of missles (most likely ICBM's buried at an underground facility that are ready to be launched if something like this were to occur) being lauched from a base out there that survived...shows that the gov't is at least partly functional and that they are responding...what was on the tips of the missles though? that is the question...most likely nukes...another question, where are they going? I've only seen one episode of this...and it was the last one...it looks like a good show...who is this black guy? "I was a pool man once also" that was pretty good...

I'm hoping that it will come out on DVD for the season. I've been tempted to buy some other TV show DVD but haven't but I would definitely buy one of the Jericho season. The show is so fast and there are a lot of clues that I am missing.

I tried getting into Lost, mid-Season 1. Let me just say that was not the way to begin watching Lost. If they hadn't aired the first season over the summer that year, I wouldn't be a Lost fan probably. I've noticed networks are airing marathons early into the breakout first seasons of shows. I'm just hoping they do this with Jericho.

When I go to watch it on CBS website, it says not available for viewing outside the United States. Does it always say then, then it plays?

It's licensing issues. The international distribution deals probably haven't been done yet. I think you can get around it by using a US proxy server. In IE 6, goto Internet Options/Connections tab/LAN Settings, check proxy server and enter the address and port #.

Firefox:

Internet Options/General/Connection Settings, check Manual proxy configuration, enter address in HTTP Proxy and port #.

There is also an extension for Firefox that will let go back and forth between your normal internet connection and the proxy server.

That's as bad as Monk. 10 Weeks off!!!!!!! I could care less about flashbacks pre-nuclear attack. It must be they are going to try and hook more people for the second season. Thank you so much Brent for the info.
