Take it easy - lol. I've been telling everyone that I have plans all weekend. I'm sure they think I'm going to events or fall festivals! My plans - to clean! I have so much on my agenda - garage (tons of cardboard recycling out there to drop off and Goodwill items accumulating, no room for my car right now!), ironing galore, not to mention pesty cobwebs. And then I have a "bored" 16 yr old at home......if I can keep her happy, I'll be all set. LOL! She's talking about shopping at the mall today with friends. Sure I can do that.....the drop off I mean. There will be a time when she'll be in college and then I'll have time all freed up. So I'd better enjoy these last remaining teenage years huh? But when your house is crying out for major cleaning, you feel torn in so many ways! Okay, my frazzled rant is over now......back to my chores!

(the hand is much better Steph!).

Mary, this morning I'm looking for the ambition to tackle my own cleaning. Just looking at the house (anywhere in it!) ought to be motivation enough, but I can't seem to move. :( It's so pretty outside that it would be nice to sit on the deck and watch the horses across the way, but if I sit still too long, I fall asleep.

Okay, cleaning it is! I'm going to pick a DVD that I haven't seen yet, and watch/listen to it as I continue my whole-house shovel-out.

Bobbie - my car is loaded now for the Goodwill and recycling ctr. Then it's time to really clean that garage. I'm on a roll today. Just thought I'd check my email and of course, one thing leads to another and before I know it, I'm checking S2K.

Saturdays and half of Sundays are my only big blocks of time available anymore so I've got to take advantage of this time. But if you can clean later, go for a relaxing day Bobbie! I'm finding that I miss my once free weekdays, more and more. Now I know why my SIL's who are teachers get all their big household projects (repainting, carpet cleaning, etc.) over the summer or on breaks. You can't get it done with school is in session.

Back to work now...he he

Mary, I actually HAVE accomplished a bit -- mostly sorting through stuff I know I won't use again and trying to organize the rest. Right now my bedroom is such a mess that I'm forced to finish the job if I think I'm going to sleep in there tonight.

I'm a mess!

BRrrrrrr! Would y'all SCOOT OVER...make some ROOM, I'm FREEZIN' to DEATH here :ggreen:

HOWDY Pot Bellied buddies (me included!) :ggreen: Don't know if I'm gettin' SICK or WHAT but I've been COLD all DAY! Actually, it's downright COOL...49° right now at 1630 MST with a stiff NE breeze blowin' :larrow: :?: in fact....soon as I'm finished postin' this, I'm crankin' up the TRUE wood stove with some Alligator Juniper and Pinyon Pine!

Let's see if I have this right....Bob Childs from "The Weather Channel" was the one who introduced "Crouton the Pot Bellied PIG" into the scene was he not? I know there were a few OCM's from TWC would frequent the PBS, that was before TWC went to HADES in a HANDBASKET

Anyways....well, I'm outta here to put on a sweatshirt and build a fire before I DO freeze to death, how DOES a snowman freeze to death? :ggreen:

It was one of the OMC's from TWC that introduced Crouton, but I don't remember if it was Bob Childs (I can't remember what he looked like) or perhaps it was Bob Stokes?

Anyway, we had to get friends for Crouton, so Clarabelle and Slowpoke soon showed up along with our own pets. :ggreen:

I hope that you aren't getting sick Dennis.

Dennis, I hope you're not getting sick, either. The flu is kicking into gear,
around here, already. In fact, several family members have come down with it.
Take your vitamin C!

I'm off of work, this week (with the exception of Wednesday), and, I do plan
to get some much-needed housework done, as well. Washing curtains and
windows are on the agenda, and, as bad as I HATE that job, it's gotta be done!
LOL, cross your fingers for me up on that ladder, trying to reach some
of the tall windows - I'm not a really graceful person on a ladder!

Good Memory Steph... it was Bob Childs. Don't ask me how I remember that... but I do.

Fall is getting cooler around here.... Leaves are almost off the trees... and Halloween is around the Corner.

FYI... My Flying Physical FINALLY went through!!! Now its just up to Headquarters either approve or disapprove (hopefully, there isn't anything that will set me back)

I was always fuzzy on that TWC trivia bit. I remember TLC/Tracy telling me about once. Now I'm missing those days......we are also missing a lot of old TWC friends, such as Tracy, also raine/Jackie, Toalba/Tom, angelheart/Lisa, Keirstein, Cyclone/Graham, and probably a lot more I can't think of right now. If any of you are lurking - please say hello! We miss you all.....

Happy Monday everyone.......great to be going back to work and all. NOT!

LOL

35 here in Cincinnati. I had to dig out our winter gloves yesterday.....ah, but who am I kidding - I absolutely love this time of year! I have a ritual too - first time it snows, I have to go outside. Just to see the flakes, taste them, etc. Yeah, go ahead and say - Miss Mary's a flake. LOL

Miss Mary I can just get a visual of you standing in the snow with your tongue stuck out and lapping up those big snowflakes. lol

Dennis, are you OK?? I drank a hot toddy for you this weekend. Did it help?

I made a big ole pot of vegetable beef soup on Friday and spent the day in the yard and gardens on Saturday. Got shrubs trimmed and beds cleaned out. Phew, I was tired and dirty!!! We had a few snowflakes this morning, but just a few.

I'll put on a pot of Earl Grey and throw a log on the fire.
As Eric would say, Have a marvelous Monday.
Where is Eric??

Hey all - I swore I saw a stray snowflake or two on the way home from work. Sure enough, wxunderground says to expect flurries today.

So technically I saw my first snowflake. Let Winter begin now....he he.

And get this - I have to cut my grass!!!! It's 45 and I've put it off long enough. Both husbands on each side of me, the type that cuts in the rain and twice a week (ugh), cut 3 days ago. I've put this off long enough....LOL

I did! Several. LOL And I put on my lightweight thermals as I headed out for a doctor's appt. (Laura's). She joked I should pick her up at the med office building's front door b/c it was too cold to walk back to the car. Teens - they don't dress warm enough! Do you know that NONE of them wear a coat? NONE! What they prefer wearing are hoodies or fleece zip up jackets (Columbia, North Face, etc.). Forget gloves or hats - OMG, I gave up these suggestions years ago. Laura said they turn the school's heat off over the weekend or turn it way down. So the kids shiver all day, on Mondays. I just sighed, suggesting she dress warmer on Mondays. I got a rolled eye look in return.

Oh I love being a mom of teens, truly I do but their styles kill me at times. I swear I have to leave the room, b/c I'm cracking up. Of course I had to remind Laura I had my layers on. She joked I was ready to ski I was dressed so warm.

Then I have Nina on campus running around hoping to still wear flip flops. Last year she ventured out in them, only to have it snow later in the day. She told me a friend drove by and picked her up, taking her back to her dorm for warmer clothes - not to mention sox and shoes! I of course heard this funny story later....after the fact.

You raise them to wear their hats, mittens, coats and then it all goes out the window when they start high school.

Okay, this little mom-rant moment is over now. he he
