The massage is definitely helping. Now could you move a little this way? AAHHH!!! that's better. Thanks!!! I may need some more later if you don't mind. Unfortunately a few more aches and pains are showing up.

Even though I have another job to go to already, I have another interview this morning which could be an even better job if it pans out. Again, all I want is for God's will to be done in this situation.

Welcome home Poppysky!! Sounds like it was another good trip to see the angel.

Hey David, we've got the whole spa thing going here by the PBS ... heat pads, cold packs, massage therapy, Ben Gay. You name it, we'll take care of ya!
Let us know how the interview went today. Prayers continuing for you.

I had a job fair to go to today but it got cancelled. For good reasons. See the thread I'm about to make for details. :D

Hope everyone had a great day. I did. Nice wx in advance of the approaching storm. I had a psychologist appt this afternoon, other than that it was pretty much my normal routine.

We're back from SoCal We absolutely fell in love...I feel like a California girl already. The town we stayed in is called Temecula, and it's nestled between the coast and the mountains...a hill country home to the famous Temecula wine country...vinyards galore! (Wine is very reasonable there). We bought many bottles from the wineries themselves and plan on sampling a few this weekend. :) We were about 45 mins from San Diego, but we took the coastal road there, to check out the beach towns...fell in love with La Jolla....we were sitting out on the Oceanside Bch pier and discovered we were within an hour of Tiajuana, and it was a Saturday night, so we went into Mexico. What a filthy town, but it was awesome to be able to drive there...it's so close. Big Bear mountain, part of the San Bernadino Mnts. was also within an hour drive, so we actually went there twice. The first day was almost blizzard like condition, as the snow from the storm system was falling hard. We could not get all the way to Big Bear because we didn't have snow chains on our tires, and we didn't want to buy them for our rental car...We were in a small village that was soo picturesque, just like a Thomas Kincaid painting...
We also went into Hollywood, and saw the set up for the Oscars...we walked the red carpet...I have great pictures if anyone wants to see anything...we drove up in the Hollywood Hills and saw Brad Pitt's house (there's still some silly little girl in me!).
SoCal is an incredibly beautiful place, there's so much to do within such short drives. We didn't make it into Palm Springs or see any of the desert, but it's only 1 1/2 hrs away, and we will soon.

It was neat to speak with Azskyman while out there, he kind of welcomed us to California, as he was there at the same time. (He caught us during our visit to the wine country) :O)

So, it looks like furluvcats will have a new address again! The job was offered to Brian, and we are planning on accepting! Perhaps now I can meet Josh, and Snowman and Azskyman! :)

For once I'm returned from a trip and can't say it's good to be home...Temecula already feels like home to me. :O)

Furry, that's so exciting. I'm so happy for you. I'd love to see your pictures!!!!!

I'll stoke up the fire in the stove, sit back in the rocker and relax for awhile. Oops almost forgot to brew some Earl Grey for Miss Mary.

By the way, I brought some KK's so help yourself. Save the chocolate covered one for David, please.

Have a great evening

Awesome!! Thanks Karan!!! And they even listened too!!! YYYYUUUUMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!! Can you tell it's been a while since I had a chocolate covered KK???

The interview seemed good, but they passed on me mainly due to my lack of recent experience with MicroStation software, which is the only graphics software they use at that office. I guess they wanted someone who could hop in right away, so they passed on me. I would have been up to speed quickly, but that is not what they wanted, so they passed.

I started my new job today at the other office where I already had a job lined up. I think it will be a good fit. They are somewhat behind on the AutoCad software they are using and since I have used the latest, they have a new computer on order for me and I will be the first in the office to get the latest AutoCad software. If things work out like I hope they will and like I think they hope it will I will drag them screaming and kicking into the 21st century, at least graphics software wise. I took a pay cut to take this job, but I will have full benefits in 90 days, all paid by the company which is very important to us. I'll keep you posted, good or bad.

I am slowly but surely recovering from the wreck. Email me if you have an interest in seeing the car after the accident. I have not heard from the other parties insurance yet and the sheriffs dept tells me I can't even find out who hit me until the report "is in the system", which will be next Friday. That is BS that they won't give me information that is normally given at the accident scene. They would not give it to my daughter, except for the case number, when she asked for it. It had nothing to do with the fact she wasn't my wife because the allowed her to deal with a lot of the stuff that was going on. sounds almost like a cover-up to me. If I do find out the person that hit me is with some sort of law enforcement or better yet the sheriff's dept. you will hear the repercussions from sea to shining sea!!! I am hoping it is just regular beauraucratic BS, but?????

Enough fantasizing on my part and I need to get down off this box(carefully) and get my arse into bed.

Furry!! Don't leave me!!! You have to promise to still cruise out of Galveston so we all can have a get together or you have to come down for the Hurricane Conference in May!!!! PROMISE!!!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

David...maybe the hurricane conference...that sounds fun, although I may be attending an "earthquake conference" during that time...lol. We can cruise out of Los Angeles now, but Galveston still has the best itinerary, so don't be surprised if you don't see us along the Texas Gulf again! :)

Hope this job is the right one for you..it helps when you're content in your career, doesn't it? Email me the pics! Scary, huh?

David....good luck through the insurance process. There are so many people who want to litigate every situation these days that it is a wonder that anyone talks to anyone any more! I'm sure it will work in your favor. Best wishes too on the new job. Taking a pay cut is often the first step toward moving ahead. When I arrived in Phoenix, I took a substantial pay cut, but have since jumped well ahead of where I would have topped out in Illinois (not that anyone in the publishing business gets rich!). You will do fine, and this is just another step along the road of life.

Speaking of the road of life. A new California girl in Furluvcats!! What a risk-taker you are!!! Wish you, Brian, and the family the best of luck.

So you were in LaJolla...downtown by the cove? Would you believe Deb, our daughter in law, works there? It is a neat place indeed, although not as neat as Coronado!

Anyway...please have a nice weekend, everyone. We hope to stroll through the Great Fair in Fountain Hills, AZ, with some 450 craft and art booths. It is a neat place to visit if the sun comes out and you can stroll by the park.

First, though, any chocolate KK's left for me? I am having a chocolate withdrawal right now!

Chris, my son, was in a car accident about the same time, pretty well trashed the van, in fact, the insurance adjuster totaled it today.......he's gonna make out pretty decent, 3K$ for the van PLUS all of his medical bills, he's got a chipped knee cap from hitting the dash......BOY, hasn't THIS been a month for a lot of us? Let's hope and PRAY March turns out to be a better month, dang sure couldn't get ANY worse!

Can't stay but a second, after the searches etc. I'm POOPED, SO, it's OFF for a cold beer and put my feet up!

Good Evening Friends!

It's also been several days for me to stop by our stove. Nothing much has been going on. I've still been going to see my niece playing basketball. They are undefeated and the playoffs start next week. I found out tonight that my nephew is in the hospital with pneumonia. He was out of school all last week.

David - I certainly do hope that this job is the "right fit". Steve is right, sometimes you need to take a step back to take several forward. I hope you're feeling better!

Furry - that's so awesome! Didn't you just finish remodeling your house there? I know you'll have fun with your new one. I'm so glad that you got to chat with Steve.

Dennis - you deserve the rest Big Guy! I'm glad to hear that Chris is alright and that everything is going to work out insurance wise.

I'm taking Monday off. I have a dental appointment scheduled and then I'm taking two of my cats for annual checkups. I'm alittle apprehensive about taking them only because I haven't been to the vet since before Derby died. My one cat, Gipper, is 16 years old and while as healthy as a horse (from what I can tell), I feel like I'm looking for something to be wrong.

This weekend we're supposed to be in the 50's to near 60 by Monday. I'll be outside doing a alittle cleanup work in the yard.

Everyone have a wonderful evening!

Cinnamon bisquits and brownies. YUMMY Well I've been cooking all day so these treats sound great. I love to cook for others but the one drawback is that you can't taste the end product!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The mother-in-law of a great guy I work with died suddenly on Saturday. This couple was so special to me when Craig died. Anyway, I decided I would cook and bake and do whatever. Let me wet your pallet!!!! Halushki (a favorite Polish dish in this area made with homemade noodles, cabbage, onion and tons, tons of butter) pecan pumpkin pie, blueberry pie and cheesecake with cherries.

Since I can't eat what I cooked I'll munch on those wonder bisquits and brownies. Thanks. The good thing is that they have NO Calories!!!!!

I'll put a log on the fire and brew some Earl Grey.
Have a great night!!!!

The perils of moving....

#738 Postby furluvcats » Tue Mar 02, 2004 12:09 pm

Boy is it SLOW around here! :)

Well, we listed our house with a broker lastnight. I didn't expect to get so emotional...I'm beginning to be torn over what to do, move to CA or stay here and be comfortable with what we've got. How do you decide what is ultimatly the right decision? I think I am in need of some Azskyman wisdom.... :)

Has anyone moved long distance lately? We're ALL in the wrong business! The quotes I've gotten back range from 9,000-11,000 dollars to move us, and that's not even counting our vehicles and camper, and flying the whole family out to Ca. Crazy expensive!

Hope everyone has a great day. We're enjoying Spring like temps, windows open, absolutely everything is blooming!

Been there, done that, Shannon. Our last move was just over a year ago from Ormond Bch up here to SW Indiana. It's NUTS expensive! And, yes, very emotional, especially when it comes time to say goodbye to friends and family. You always wonder if you're making the right decision, especially for the kids. Praying for wisdom is always my first and best option. All the best to you! Send me a PM anytime you want to talk, girlfriend. :D

So Steph, how are the kitties doing? Hope their visit went well.

My daughter's home sick today, so I'm "on call". We're using the 2-way radio. She buzzes me when she wants a drink, etc. I'm about ready to throw the thing into the lake. (the radio, not the girl) lol

Have a great day everyone!

LOL Donna....Been there, done that, with my kids too when they were sick. Kathy would say she's been there, done that, with me at times! Me, a needy person? Nawwww.

Shannon, I'd be very very worried about you if you didn't have all those mixed emotions. As it stands, you are just at a crossroads where black is gray and white is too.

I'll drop you a PM to follow my quick response this afternoon. Contrary to some opinions, I have NO answers, but my years of experience might be some help in sorting through ways to come up with your own!

Deep breaths now. Very deep breaths.

You too Donna. Over and out.
