Question: Come on, Mike... tell us. Are the rumors in US Weekly true? Is Michelle Rodriguez a problem child on the set of Lost? Are they plotting her demise? You're the man — give us the scoop. — Erish

Ausiello: How 'bout we ask exec producer Damon Lindelof. "It's all huff and puff and speculation," he tells me. "Not a word of it is true." He goes on to say that if he were going to whack Ana Lucia — and that's a big "were" — it wouldn't be because of Rodriguez's behavior. "Lost's story is the star, and no actor would ever be killed off for any other reason than supporting the story." Interpret as you like.

Holloway Champions Sawyer's Lost Cause
by Shawna Malcom

Is Sawyer, the sexy bad boy on ABC's Lost (Wednesdays at 9 pm/ET), turning all good on us? Not if Josh Holloway has anything to say about it — and does he ever, in this TV Guide interview!

TV Guide: In this week's episode, Sawyer finally gets some more flashback love. It's about time!
Josh Holloway: I know! Of course, he got shot, so he was kind of out of commission for awhile. Now he's healed enough to be back in the game.

TV Guide: By the Lost time line, though, it's only been a matter of days since he was shot by the Others, right?
Holloway: In reality, he wouldn't be able to use his damn arm. I guess those antibiotics are workin'. That Jack is one wonder doctor! [Laughs]

TV Guide: So give us the scoop on Sawyer's episode.
Holloway: Sawyer's focus is revenge [against the Others]. But he's at the mercy of Jack and Locke's decision-making, and that's not a place he likes to be. So he's gonna be Sawyer. His actions are gonna be selfish. I don't know how people are gonna feel about him afterwards.

TV Guide: I heard you begged producers not to make Sawyer too likable. True?
Holloway: Yes. I trust them implicitly, but I don't ever want Sawyer to lose his edge. More edge and a tiny little inkling of humanity — that's where I wanna keep him.

TV Guide: You actually filmed a different Sawyer episode that was supposed to air at the beginning of the season but never did. What happened?
Holloway: The show took a good stance there. ABC was trying to mandate the story somewhat. They wanted to capitalize on [Sawyer's popularity] for the opening of the season, but that's just not where the story was — the story needed to be about Mike and [the kidnapped] Walt. So after three days of filming, [producers] pulled it. I was hurt as an actor a little, but I understood. They got back in line with the integrity of the story, and that I have huge respect for.

TV Guide: Will that episode ever air?
Holloway: I don't know. If they wanna tell that story, they have it.

TV Guide: Now that Jack's rejected Kate, will she be seeking comfort from you?
Holloway: There's no major love scene yet, but it's definitely heading in that direction. He's got an in with Kate right now because he's been injured, so don't think he's not gonna work that angle. He's definitely using the "poor me" thing. It's heating up, which is good. Sawyer's got needs. He hasn't gotten any action since he's been on the island.

TV Guide: Why's he having so much trouble?
Holloway: Kate's a tough cookie to crack! I would've thought he'd at least [have] gotten a little on the side, just to use as jealousy.

TV Guide: Was it your idea to give Sawyer a haircut?
Holloway: Oh, yes. It's in your face all the time and ruining some of your best takes. The hair was in the way.

TV Guide: In October, you and wife Yessica were robbed at gunpoint in the middle of the night in your Hawaii home. What happened?
Holloway: We startled him. I got up to have a smoke, opened the door and boom! Gun to your head. He was scared. You wanna do something... [maybe] attack the guy... but you don't wanna give him a reason to shoot. So I just kept myself between him and my wife. I told him, "I'm not looking at you, dude. It's cool." It was like, calm him down and get him the f--- out.

TV Guide: They've since arrested a suspect. How are you dealing?
Holloway: It's hard when it happens in your house because that energy stays awhile. I had to find some bright side, and I tell you what: It sure is a lot of ammo to use as an actor.

TV Guide: On a lighter note, you've filmed a movie called Whisper. Tell us about it.
Holloway: I'm playing this guy kind of like Jack. Of course, he's not a doctor, he's an ex-con. [Laughs] He agrees to do the ol' "one last job" and kidnaps this evil little bastard. It's kind of like an Omen-ish thing.

TV Guide: Have you considered asking Lost cocreator J.J. Abrams for another job, now that he's a big film director?
Holloway: I told him, "I die well, man. Shoot me in the first scene of Mission: Impossible III. Blow me off a roof or something."

TV Guide: A speeding ticket you got in Hawaii made national headlines.
Holloway: That wasn't speeding! I was doing 53 in a 35!

TV Guide: And how is that not speeding?
Holloway: That's the Honolulu police department not having anything better to do. [Laughs] I was like, "Come on, let me at least get a real one — 120 in a 35!" At least it'd be in line with my character!

________________

Finally, if you'd like to vote on who is incahoots with the Others, there's a poll up on TV Guide's mainpage:
http://www.tvguide.com/default

That was a tough choice. I went with Locke b/c he's been acting pretty strange lately, more than he usually does. I don't trust his interest in Aaron anymore.

Well ol Sawyer had me in stiches this whole episode with his smart remarks, till the ending. That was a great show this time, and next week.........THE BUTTON! I can't wait to see what happens here with Locke and Jack, battle of the leaders. This is really starting to get good again. The show took alot of turns this episode with quite a few characters. Can't wait till next week.

I am also very disappointed in Charlie. I can't believe he did that. He'll never be able to go back to the good side. I'm sorry, but he crossed that trust line.

Moving on....Kelly, I was cracking up too, Saywer had so many smart aleck remarks, numerous references to pop culture, history, TV shows. It was hard to keep up. The girl he scammed in flashbacks, he gave the nic dimples to. Seems like he can't call anyone by their real name. I was enjoying this Sawyer ride....until the end. And I swear I knew he was going to mutter that line....there's a new Sheriff in Town. Honest. He had that swagger, that old TV Western attitude and he was not the good guy. More like I'm not really the bad guy but for now, this is all you got.

I can't believe Kate fell for it all too. I'm still surprised at that.

The look Ana Lucia gave Kate......gave me chills. As if to say I got your number, sistah.

Lots of twists and turns this episode. I swear I don't know what to make of all of it. I'm still trying to figure out if Jack's going to come out on top. He HAS to!

I'd still trust Jack, 150% in a situation like this. Even my daughter Laura said it, she's on Jack's side now. She was somewhat on Locke's side.

And finally, I know only 2 months and a few days have passed, but come on people - somebody......teach Jin to speak English!!!!

Mary

PS - and oh yeah, on a Lost board I frequent, Lord of the Flies keeps coming up. I think it's time to read that book. I never had to (in school). But tonight's episode sure seems like it was a chapter right out of that book (from topics I've read comparing Lost to that book).

LOL - yeah, count me on the fence. On the one hand I like the bad boy, but then Jack is such a good, safe, cute one too. Ah, to be on that island with them LOL

I'm wishing I had taped tonight's episode as I feel like I missed stuff. I don't know - there was just so much going on, so many characters, etc. that I have a feeling I missed something. It's so good though!!!

It appears Sawyer is feeling much better now and back to his old, first on the island, kind of ways - being the bad boy that everyone dislikes. I'm kinda surprised Kate fell for it too, BUT they were keeping her out of the loop on some things it would seem so Sawyer was able to prey on that. I don't know...LOL Can't wait till next week!!

Forgot to add....

The waitress in the diner, none other than Kate's mom. "Freckles'" MOM!

Another parent connection......

I'm going to watch again. I'm glad I recorded it. And edited the timer, to record for another 3 minutes, since Lost runs over. Fans on the IMDB board missed the very last part when they revealed Charlie was in on the scheme with Sawyer. That was a shocker but very important to the story.

I wish I had taped it too, but oh well, I am sure they will rerun it again soon, they say they take 10-15 days to make 1 episode and that is why they have to do reruns during the season. You have to admit, a lot of stuff goes on in one hour so I can understand why it takes so much time, quality takes time and its worth it. I just think maybe they need to start filming earlier than they do so they can have episodes in the can before the season starts to go through enough time to be able to film some more so they don't have to do so so many reruns, but then again, it helps to refresh your mind and help you catch things you missed the first go round.

On tonights episode, at first I thought Ana Lucia had done that to Sun, but then after Sawyer's flash backs kept going I told Robi, Sawyer did that and he made it so that Kate would ask him to go tell Locke to hide the guns, etc. etc.....he said you really think so, and I said yep! But I had no idea it was Charlie who followed Locke, I couldn't figure out how he knew where he put them but was thinking about some kind of tracking devise he had found somewhere on the plane or in the bunker and hadn't told anyone about. I really feel sorry for Charlier. He hasn't used yet I don't think but he knows something is fishy with Locke and Claire.........Locke's mentality against the "others" has changed to some degree but I can't rightly say that he is with "them" now.......we'll just have to wait and see and stay Lost.....................

Oh yea, I hate it, but I missed that commerical during the Superbowl, Robi told me it was on, after it was over, dumb husband that he is!!! Oh well, maybe I will get to see it again one day.

ABC is re-airing the 2-part pilot of Lost as a 2-hour event on the 22nd from 9-11pm ET, pre-empting Invasion. This is up against the Olympics and saves an episode for what is typically a lot of repeats in March/April.

Here ya go, Fly...

What an episode...man! Charlie, Charlie, Charlie...I wanted him to try and repair his image. Don't think this is gonna help! I know they don't know now, but I'm sure they will eventually.

As for Sawyer, I didn't see it coming but I can't say that I'm surprised. He cons people, after all. He sure does look good being the bad boy though. It's kinda strange watching Sawyer and Jack go at each other...I love them both!

After glancing at a few Lost boards, I see I'm not the only one unsure about the last flashback with Sawyer, when Cassidy left and he went out to the car. I think I'll watch it again.

I think Sawyer was torn, he really might have fallen in love with Cassidy. But in the end, he had to follow thru with his plan, b/c it is as he told Kate - I'm just not good.

On the Lost board I read, someone noted her name - Cassidy. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid? Mmmmm.......

Back to Charlie. I don't know how he's going to get back in their good graces now. Claire has a baby to think about. For her to trust Charlie again, a near miracle would have to happen.

I think we the fans were conned! We keep thinking the enemy is simply, the Others. But in reality, the enemy is anyone in that group.

I kept remembering a past episode when Jack made Kate promise she had his back. "I need to know you have my back, Kate!"....something like that. In relation to Locke. Well, they forgot all about ole Sawyer! And Kate didn't have Jack's back.....unless you're a spouse, no one else has your back. Or a parent (Michael and Claire). Or dang it - a dog! Vincent is loyal. That was pretty mean though, Charlie sending in the pooch first. Lowdown dirty!

This episode is going to stay with me for a while. And I have so much to do today, I don't have time to read other boards (warning, they can be very addicting!).

Sigh.....for the 100th time, I'm so glad I got into this show. What else would I have - a bunch of comedies (fine as they are but I don't think about them again until the next episode) and ER (and we all know it isn't what it used to be!).

And oh yeah, someone on the IMDB board said Charlie went to the dark side.

All I could think of was Star Wars. He isn't Darth Vader.....yet that is.

You know the writers were/are big Trekkie, SW, etc. fans don't you? I've read that. They'll all nerdy that way, slipping in references here and there. I remember Sawyer calling somebody Han or Chewy. Or both.

I just wanted to slap Charlie. To be SO devious, but to do that to poor Sun. Maybe Charlie and Sawyer can set up an "outcast" camp for just the two of them. They deserve each others company.

Okay Mary, got your pom-poms ready?!

Here we go: Jack, Jack, he's our man, if Jack can't do it NO ONE CAN!!! GOOOOOO JACK!!!!!

Hubba hubba......LOL!!!

Jack IS our man! Oh yeah.....I would think he could quietly start up that army, w/o guns of course. He'd have so many on his side now. Forget that wacky, new-age Locke dude folks (slipping into Hurley lingo now). We need to follow Jack now.

Kate's giving Jack a new look thesedays I'm sure.....something tells me he won't trust her again!

Well I don't think Jack was being very smart this last episode. He was being a little hot headed and not thinking things through instead of his usual calm cool and collective self. I don't think whipping out all those guns to everyone would have been very smart, ecspecially now that we know it was Charlie. Those guns are just dangerous period. There definitley needs to be more order there, things are starting to get a little hairy. Need to be some laws, and a "jail" to put away folks that disobey and stir up trouble. I guess we got a new sheirff in town, lol  Doubt he will be laying down any laws though. Jack is a little too naive I believe to be a complete leader. Yea he has good intentions, but he just got worked by Sawyer and Charlie. Maybe someone like Saywer isn't such a bad idea of one being in charge. I know, I know. But hey half of the police officers we have in this country walk on the wrong side of the law, and they know how a theif, liar, manipulator thinks, and there for can see it coming. As for Loche, I think he is starting to loose it some, he got worked too. I am excited to see the outcome of this whole thing with them. And how it seemed in the previews that Jack strong arms him and keeps him from pushing the button. I wonder if it will really happen, or if someone else is right there on the computer and pushes it at the last second. They all have been on the island long enough, where all the nicey, nicey is wearing off, and they are all getting to know one another and peoples true colors are starting to show. I think I will being watching it again today sometime. I had to rewind it like 4 times last night to hear what Charlie was saying to Sawyer at the end, I kept thinking did he just say Sun? or Sawyer in that accent of his? But it was Sun, I can't believe he did that either really, the both of them. But I guess you can only take someone telling you what to do for so long, but I am sure there were better ways to go about it.

Captions are your friend.

I never used to use the captions, but when my sister turned on the subtitles to some movies we watched, you can "hear" things you couldn't hear before. You have to get used to them being on the screen at first, but then you can't live without them! You pick up things that otherwise you'd miss. And if you record it, you can just rewind it and turn them on when you miss something (if you don't like them on all the time).

I've gotten where I have to have them for my 3 weekly shows: LOST, House, and 24!

TV Guide's Watercooler Lost Critique....I still can't shake this episode. WE were all conned! LOL

Lost
Damn. I feel like I was just the victim of a long con. For once, all the twists and turns led someplace within the hour, and I admit, that made this an unusually satisfying episode. (Yeah, I'm always the one defending Lost's lack of neat and tidy answers.) I spent most of the episode counting the ways in which Locke is really the bad guy. He was even the one who suggested that Jack take Sawyer's meds away. Sawyer said making Locke angry enough to hit you is like "getting Gandhi to beat his kids," but that evenheaded demeanor suddenly seems more sinister than philosophical. He sure did act fishy when Jack wanted the combo to the gun room. Then it was easy enough to suspect "El Jacko and Ana Lulu" (someone needs to make an online Sawyer name generator) of orchestrating the Sun incident to inspire fear and get more recruits. But I don't think either one of them could harm someone on purpose. By the way, love that Ana Lucia joined in the Scott/Steve joke — such a great wink to longtime fans. After all these months of Sawyer being an invalid, we kind of forgot that his self-serving ways could get more harmful than folksy nicknames and knowing winks. It was cute how the marked divorcée, Cassidy, saw straight through the same con Sawyer pulled on the blonde chick last season. And the few Matchstick Men scenes where she becomes his protégé in crime also made me forget the mean spirit of his business. But Josh Holloway has a brilliant way of keeping that dimpled grin on his face while his eyes go all cold and serpenty, and you can feel the chill from the couch. Still, when Sawyer came out brandishing a rifle while Locke and Jack were having their little tiff, I gasped audibly. In retrospect, we were being set up during the whole episode to learn that Sawyer just can't help his evil ways. That's a good thing, though; I like him better with a little extra sauce. But poor Kate. Betrayed and left out again. I hope she gets a chance to make her own power grab soon and stop being like the kid sister trying to join her big brother's club. — Sabrina Rojas Weiss
