Hi everyone! I love Lost and was wanting to discuss something I noticed and thought where are the smartest people on the web??? Here of course. I haven't been here since hurricane season but just gotta tell you all something
When Locke was shaking out the books one of the books is a book called An occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge, by A. Bierce. This is a book written about a guy about to be hanged during the Civil War and it is everything that is going through his head from the time he starts the drop. Now I know the theory has been around that the plane is crashing and they are dying and this is all in their heads. Hence why the two in first class died already. Charlie was in the first class restroom so if he is next to go I honestly will freak. Do you believe that the writers are reading the theories online and writing things in like this book to just mess with people? I think back to Sawyer reading Watership Down Do you think perhaps that is really what the writers are wanting to drop red herrings.

Lordy, Lordy so many new ideas and things to think about. I don't know either one of those books but will ask my children as they have probably read them both for their AP English courses or something in college.
Thanks SG for the link, that was the cutest commerical, I'm glad I got to see it, for we ARE ALL addicted to LOST! same with 24 and I love Dancing with the Stars!!!! and Survivor so we have to tape one and watch the other. I used to like NCIS but am stilled tt'd off cause they killed Kate at the end of the season last year!
I didn't realize that Charlie had done that to Sun, I thought it was Sawyer. I guess I'm not smart as SG and haven't turned on the captions so I can see what they are saying..hehehehehe...my daughter does that and it drives me crazy! You know he didn't hurt her, she hurt herself when she fell down, he just scared her.....I know, I know, I feel sorry for him, bless his heart, they are really dumping on him and he was innocent until now. Just my opinion and you know what they are like, everybody's got one!

I firmly believe they want us to realize Charlie didn't beat up Sun, she did that to herself. All he did was put the hood over her head and maybe tie her hands together. The rest happened when she fought back. Did Charlie think she'd go willingly though? He has to feel terrible each time he looks at her.
The fans on that IMDB board are connecting the music Hurley and Sayid heard. Some say it's an inside joke b/c fans have so many far fetched ideas. And the writers are just making light of them. I don't know what to make of the song. But I know it's significant info.
In fact anytime a character picks up a book, tunes in a radio, tells a story from the past or a flashback is shown, I sit up and take notice of very minor details. Because now we Lost fans are trained, by the writers, to look for hidden meanings and clues. They created this monster ya know....the fans wanting to know more and more. LOL!
I just watched the last 15 minutes again and I tell you what, everyone was shocked at Sawyer, except of course Charlie. Remember he wanted to know how Sawyer came up with such a plan. What makes a person think of something like this, Charlie wanted to know. Of course Sawyer says he''s not good, he's never done a good thing in his life (what I predicted he'd say). But watching this convo again, Charlie comes off as a simple minded guy, wanting to be respected and cared about, but easily swayed into trying alternative routes to get his way. I really don't think anyone is going to suspect Charlie. Unless he begins acting more and more strange. My daughter Laura thinks he might have the island disease and is slowly losing it. All I know is Charlie hates Locke (not Jack, I was relieved to figure that out).

I just watched last week's episode... not as shocking as I expected after hearing my friends tell me that it was a must-see, but still better than the last few.

That's because you already heard Charlie "went to the dark side"...as some are saying on a Lost board I read. LOL
Sitting there watching and finding out at the very end, Sawyer roped Charlie into helping out and worse, attacking Sun, well it was a huge disappointment and a shock.
I'm glad I started watching before I read posts here or on the IMDB board!
Let that be a lesson to you Garrett......just kidding....

Actually they had not told me that, nor had I read in here. I actually figured that it was him being that he was pretty much absent from the whole show. I knew it wasn't Ana Lucia because that would have been a tooooooo obvious. The only person that it could have been would be the only person who was an outcast... hence, Charlie. The only other person I thought it might be was Walt's dad... I've forgotten his name. Eek! But whenever they realized it was someone in the camp, I knew exactly what was happening.

Oops, I posted this on the other Lost topic that's very short, only a page long. And since we want most Lost type posts on this thread, here goes, a second time. LOL!

What with all that Sawyer villainy ("I never did a good thing in my life"), last week's Lost episode was Other-free. Tonight's could be a different matter — and Sayid's experience as a torturer could prove useful. Meanwhile, Sawyer might be the "new sheriff in town," but one of those strange island creatures apparently didn't get the message. So our con man blackmails Hurley (who has been a bad boy himself) into helping him deal with it. And in the hatch, the computer's still demanding that code every 108 minutes. — Paul Droesch

I didn't realize that so many people liked it. Hey listen on Saturday I went to blockbuster with my girlfriend. I hadn't watched Lost before at all!!! We picked out a movie (cant remember the name) and I went up to a worker there and asked him if this was really a good show... He looked at me and said, "Now I'm gonna warn you, once you start watching you will not stop." I said, uh oh ok whatever dude but, I didn't walk back and pick up Disk One of the first season. Now mind you this was about noonish on saturday. We went back home watched the movie and then popped in Lost on the big screen with surround sound. I swear to you that from the moment the music started playing on the menu I was hooked. It was weird... When the first disk was finished me and my girlfriend were like NOOOOO!!!!! and then we ran back to blockbuster and got Disk's 2 and 3. Last night was tuesday so we just finished the first season. I was doing a little research and found out that we are now on like week 13 of the new season so it kind of sucks cause I don't want to start watching now. I want to wait for the second season ... what are my bloody options.... Can someone please help me? It's like i'm charlie and I need another fix. See I even talk the show...

You can download them for $1.99/episode. If you get 13 episodes, that's $25.87 - probably less than renting season 1 and you'd be caught up. If you do this, record tonight's (without peeking! lol) and you won't have to buy it when you catch up.
I downloaded the first 10 - I missed the season premier and subsequent episodes due to Hurricane Rita hitting here, so I got way behind.
Here's the link:

The only other option I know is to wait until September when they release the DVD's. I would not just start watching now. You've missed way too much.
