Welcome back, Garrett! I...uh...STILL have the books that I am
going to send, sitting over on the kitchen bar! I know....excuses,
excuses! LoL, but, I promise to you that those books WILL be sent!

I've had family in and out of here, all day, today. We fired up
the grill and ate and ate and ate.....Whew! I'm STILL stuffed!
Looks like we're doing it, again, tomorrow. Thank goodness
I got the laundry and the house chores done early on
Saturday morning! I am graciously accomplishing my goal of
eating and napping, all weekend! The diet starts again
on Tuesday... :ggreen:

Bron, girl, I hope you get things in order! Jeez, ain't red tape fun?

Poppysky, still prayin' for Raine's son, Dakota!

Everyone have a great night!

That will make 2 of us Garrett. Bronwyn, good luck!
Breeze I'm going to my uncle's house tomorrow to cook out. The problem? It sits on a BIG hill (and I do mean BIG, 600 feet straight down!)!
Tom hope you had a good time!
Not much happening here, like I said tomorrow will be a busy day.
C ya in the AM,
Jeremy

my discussion on and outlook for the upcoming monsoon has been posted on the Special Topics page of my homepage. The URL is as follows.

http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/aslkahuna

on the opening page, scroll down to the go to's and select Potpourri and in the Potpourri menu select Special Topics (if you select Art Gallery, you will see some of my feeble attempts at photography. If you don't wish to go through that hassle, then go to

I saw it Steve, looks pretty good. :D

Hope everyone had a good Sunday. I did, sleeping in and all. ;) Didn't sleep as well this time but that's fine. ;)

The weather here cleared up late this afternoon. We hit 67 for a high. A major heat wave is in store by Tuesday. :D

I have never hang glided before, nor have I parachuted or hot air ballooned. I want to hot air balloon someday though.

Hang gliding. Cookouts. Traveling. All part of the holiday. Hope everyone has a great Monday.

But, I will say this. I came back out of the mountains of California and across the desert in Arizona this morning, and I owned the highway. There was a 100 mile stretch after Yuma that I didn't have another car in front of me or behind me. Won't be like that on Monday.

Had a great three days with Emma...and have new pictures if you'd like to see them. Need to request them by e-mail though.

Oh, and Bronwyn...we're keeping our fingers crossed for you. Don't get so frustrated with the American legal system that you give up on staying here in the U.S. of A. It is worth the fight! (and so are we!)

Off to work for me tomorrow. We have a whopper of a week ahead of us with the end of the month coming our way.

Glad you enjoyed your vacation Steve. :D

I need one, but I consider my 4 days off from work a mini-vacation in a way. Friday was unplanned in the fact that I didn't plan to be sick (obviously).

Poppysky, I remember driving one Memorial Day weekend,
from TN out to Flagstaff, on I-40, back in '94...I was cruising
along, looking at the San Fransisco Mts., snowcapped, in the
distance, while driving along west of Winslow with the A/C on,
thinking how odd and cool it was, all at the same time! I was
surprised at the lack of holiday traffic, as well. I drove several
thousand miles, "owning" the road....great feeling, yes! :D

Howdy everyone!

It is hot and still SO DRY here! Unless something freakish happens in the next few days, we'll be setting a record here for the driest May ever!!

We had a picnic today and played softball and volleyball, grilled hamburgers, links, etc. - had a blast! The ground is so dry in the field that it looked like mini earthquakes everywhere. Unfortunately, while playing volleyball, I came down from spiking the ball and landed in one of those big cracks and sprained my ankle. :(
We have another busy day of activities planned for tomorrow, but no sports for me now. :( I kept playing on it as long as I could but I couldn't run and I think I just made it worse. Oh well...

Amanzi...good luck with your visa situation. I'm sorry it is frustrating you so much. Leave it in God's hands...He'll take care of you. ;)

I hope everyone has a great day tomorrow!!

I prayed for ya last night Bronny. :D Sure hope all comes through for ya.

It's an overcast morning here. I think the clouds will clear earlier today. They better if we're gonna get that heat wave.

Hope you all have a great Memorial Day. Joshua

Thanks Sandi.

Howdy everyone! I am in between sections of the lawn. I have to come and drink some water or else I get sick to my stomach. Oh well, probably TMI. :)

Sorry to hear about your ankle Southerngale and Breeze... whenever you get to sending me those books is fine.

Skyman... your granddaughter is precious in that picture with you in the photo gallery. I bet you enjoy spending time with her.

Well... Happy Memorial Day everyone.

No it wouldn't. It would just be horrible if it happened. I go up there at 430pm this afternoon.
Anyway, how is everyone? I just sent an e-mail to my cousin saying God bless and hope all is well. She's stationed in Hawaii.
SG, you be careful. That must have hurt.
Skyman, glad you enjoyed that vacation, you must have needed it!
Later(probably tomorrow),

Hello folks,

Well I do hope you are all having a fantastic long weekend, and enjoying a day off from the office.

We went out on our jet ski yesterday and had a blast playing around. Last night we went fishing for sea trout. Did not catch a darn thing :( But it was loads of fun and so nice to be out on the water under a clear starry sky.

SG-I hope your ankle gets better :)
Enjoy your cook out Jeremy :)

Thanks for all your encouragement folks, I really do need it, I am really having a hard time dealing with this whole uncertain situation with our visas. The thought of having to go back to South Africa is quite frankly nauseating. But Steve never you worry, I will not give up fighting because it will be worth it all!!!!!!!

Take care folks :)

Jeez - is it workday tomorrow, already? LoL, we cooked out for
two days in a row. Funny thing happened, today... everyone else was
eating, and, I was finishing taking hot dogs off the grill. I was
too lazy to go back inside and get a GOOD plate, so, I grabbed up
one of those cheap styrofoam plates. (*Note - Alex, my dog, is lurking,
nearby.) We'd already grilled the hamburgers, bratwurst, and
about two lbs. of hotdogs...there's another pound and a half of
hotdogs on the grill...I am taking them off, and, having only two
hotdogs left to remove, I feel a slight "give", and, the plate snaps
in half! They're on the ground! The dog immediately jumps to
attention, retrieves a hotdog, and, starts rolling it around on the
ground, as if too "cool" it off....LoL, those hotdogs became her's....
she's a fat and sassy gal, tonight! It didn't matter about lost hotdogs, as we
cooked too many, anyway - everyone got a great laugh out of her!
We figured, if that's the worst thing to happen to us, this holiday weekend,
we're doing good, and, got a great chuckle, at that! :ggreen:
