To all my fellow Krispy Kremers...

When we were camping at the RV park at Paragon Casino this past weekend, we spied a KK stand inside the casino, that would open at 7am, serving fresh KK doughnuts...We woke up earlier than we would want to, got up, dressed, the rain was pouring down, but we stood by and waited for the casino bus to pick us up...went into the casino with morning face, and wet from the rain, and shelled out our $7.80 for a dozen KK doughnuts...Do I now deserve entrance into the S2K KK fan club???

Howdy Kitzel. Glad you made your way over to Storm2K. :multi:

KK's haven't made it here yet. I have only had one once when I was in Tennessee last yr. :o Furluv... I think you should be prez. of the fan club! LOL

Do you not like your job Chad or just the dreaded I have to work syndrome?

I have been busy today. I walked with my grandmother for an hour and since have been working on and off outside. I love this nice spring weather.

Have a great afternoon!

Hello Kitzel, nice to see you here on the Front Porch. I thought of you over the last three months thinking you would like to join us here at Storm2K. I assume we weren't sure how to find you. :)

Chad, I was wondering what you do for work, too. I remember you mentioning in every so often. What is a "CSR"? Thanks.

Nothing else happening, aside from still be in Massachusetts  -- which of course is a big deal, really. Looking forward to returning to Florida, not only not at my own home, but I high speed internet access again. :) ...but will be leaving family I am visiting.

Later everyone...

CSR = Customer Service Representative. I was one at one point for Pizza Hut. ;)

Hi all, how are you? Twas another warm and humid day here in southern CA. Hit 75 degrees under hazy and sunny skies.

Had my toe surgery today. They had to do both sides of the nail since the other side got infected. :( I have to have a permanent correction done on it in a few weeks. There were no complcations (at least not yet :D ), and it is a bit sore but otherwise is doing just fine.

Can't believe tomorrow is going to be Thursday already. That's what happens when you have Monday off I suppose... :P

Have a great Thursday. Joshua

Kitzel! So good to see you here at Storm2K! :D

Owch, Josh! I'll be careful, tippin' around the bar, as
not to step anywhere NEAR your toe, buddy, ok? :o
Hope the soreness goes away, soon!

LoL, furluv, I agree with Garrett - you can be the President
of the Storm2K KK Fan Club! Just make sure that you
have access to serving warm, fresh-baked KK's to all
the good Porchians! :ggreen:

Breeze I'll second that. I'll be really careful Josh, take it easy.
Yeah, I wouldn't mind a few KK's right now. I'm actually hungry...considering it is 9:30pm, that's strange.
Tom how are things in MA? I'm hoping that all's well.
Chad I'd just smile and do my job, and think of what that $$ is going to do someday. Just curious, what do you dream of doing at some point in your life? That's a question for anyone who wants to answer, not just Chad.
That's all from here for now,
Jeremy

Being a famous country music singer Jeremy. No joke... not that it will happen, but it is kind of a dream. I sing really well (not trying to boost my ego or anything) but I don't have the umph to make myself starve in order to make it. :) Great question though.

Kitzel...nice to see you here. There are some doors slammin' over on the other street these days, but they don't close so fast behind you here at storm2k. Welcome again!

Furry...President of S2k KK fan club? At $7.80 for a dozen, you've earned the right. I think they are about $6.40 a dozen here. I can get 3 dozen and some coins back for a $20 bill. And yes, when I do that, I do share them at work.

111 funfilled degrees here today. Bet you all wish you could visit these days.

I got a call from an old HS friend today who is in town. Last time I saw him was on New Year's Eve, 1970..a week after I returned from Vietnam. The party was at his house...and there was plenty to celebrate! We're heading to Cracker Barrel for breakfast tomorrow. Old Timer's Breakfast is what I'll probably order!

As for being in Massachusetts, Tom, I know what it is like being away from high speed internet. When I stay at my inlaws back in IL, they only have dialup. I have to get on late at night mostly. Miss that faster connection! Who would have thought that would be important ten years ago?

Well...enjoy the Thursday everyone. Take care of that toe now Josh!

Kitzel...glad you found the Front Porch...it seemed pretty lonely, but on the otherhand, your presence is felt. :D

Cloudy day with on and off showers on this Wednesday.

I had to separate a little 6 year old boy from smooching some of the girls in class today. I'm dead serious! :o :o The whole class was extremely hyper!  My goodness!!! Now I know why my teaching stint only extends to swimming lessons! I could not wait for the 45 minute class to end.

Jeremy...I'm currently studying to be a meterologist. Although I'm studying at UW-Green Bay...I'm taking the long route and taking the core classes now at UWGB and then when I graduate in about 3 semesters, then I'll be continuing my education with another bacholers in Met at an accredited university along the GOM/ Southern States somewhere (FYI...Not that Wisconsin is bad or anything...I'm not a winter person, which for obvious reasons, I'm moving away from Wisconsin once I graduate from UWGB). Right now, I have a double major in Environmental and Earth Science with a minor in Geography. I only have classes in my major left...all general education requirements are completed along with most of the meteorology core classes (ie Physics I and II, Calculus I and II, Chemistry)...Calculus II is still pending yet, have not received an official word on my grades from Spring 2003 Semester. I don't have the time in my schedule to fight Calc III in, so I'll take that class after a graduation transfer to another university.
Update on USAF Reserves: (this is for everyone) I'm also patiently waiting for my paperwork to go through waivers that way I can join the USAF Reserves...I'm hanging on by fingertips :o My medical files have to go through waivers because of the inserts in my shoes (the doc's at MEPS don't like that I have arch inserts in my shoes) I'm pushing for the Hurricane Hunters goal in my stint with the USAF Reserves. :D :D

Wow pojo - you had a real Don Juan in class today! Actually, I bet any teacher will tell you, kids really start flipping out around Easter in anticipation of summer vacation. My hats off to them, and to you. I have only enough patience to deal with my own two. Hope you get through waivers okay. We want to see you flying through a cat 3 someday!

azskyman - Have a great time with your old friend tomorrow. Hmm, and only 30 years to catch up on. I hope your waitress remembers to take her Geritol in the morning. She's gonna need it!

Josh - Glad there were no complications today with your foot surgery. Take care, dude!

C'mon cane season! Woohoo!!!!!

Wildfire Near Sonoita

#934 Postby Aslkahuna » Thu May 29, 2003 12:58 am

poses a threat to about 60 or so homes if it should make a run tomorrow. Forestry Officials are concerned about the prospects of more wind tomorrow plus the risk of dry lightning. The cause of this fire is not known yet but the odds are that it was started by one of Vicente's people. What we really need is to have some of those fires that they start on our side to make a run into Mexico so that we can tell them where to go when they ask for help in putting them out-they need to lose some homes for a change.

Good Morning All!!

What's worse than coming home from work and finding out that your A/C is on the fritz????? Not much, I tell ya! Thank goodness it was 60 degrees last night.........

Jeremy, great question! I know exactly what I want to do!! My dream is to be financially secure enough to do my volunteer work full time! I am a Guardian Ad Litem for the Florida Supreme Court. What I do is this;
In the Family Division of the court system, where children are involved in court cases; abuse, abandonment, divorce, etc., We (GAL's) represent the children. More often than not, children get lost in the system and they don't have a say-so in what happens. Gaurdian Ad Litems (GAL's) are "the voice of the children" We speak for them in court and monitor their progress in their placement as well as the parents. Some of the cases I have had have been absolutely heart-breaking but I have also made a difference in their future because of my testimony. It is strictly volunteer and very time consuming but WELL worth it. I have a case now where the little boy is 1 year old and his mother abandoned him. Neglect in the worst way. He is precious! I have him with foster care now and we may move to terminate parental rights and place him for adoption. The foster family is willing to adopt. This particular mother has already lost 2 children and we have recently found out that she is pregnant again. A very sad scenario. Keep these children in your prayers. GAL's are in very short limits. There are not nearly enough of us and ever since I started doing this (about 3 years) I have always said that if I was ever in a financial situation where it was possible, I would do this fulltime so I could handle more than one case at a time.

Sorry to be so long-winded but you asked!! It is a very rewarding thing and God blesses me everyday with these children and they make as much a difference in my life as I try to do in theirs!

If anyone is interested in becoming a GAL or just get more info, PM or AIM me, I would love to tell you who to call!

Good Morning everyone,

As I sit here drinking my coffee, I'm thinking of Poppysky sitting at Cracker Barrel having Gravy and Bisquits, eggs over easy, bacon, pancakes, sausage, ham, juice and coffee!!!! Have a great visit Steve.

Dennis, is over there sitting in the corner. Ok Dennis you've had your "time out". Now if you're a really good boy you can go golfing today.

Hey Kitzel, it's nice over here isn't it??

Joshua, I hope your toe is feeling better. Shannon, sounds like you're just as busy as ever.

Miss Mary is sitten eaten her dip n dots.

I hope to get to know a few more of yunz guys as time goes on.

But, for now I better get back to work. I'll brew a pot of Earl Grey for those of you who like that special blend of tea and leave some KK on the table. Furry you get first pick!!! None for Crouton though. (Kitzel, don't you be sneekin and given him any!!!)

Take care my friends

Just got back in a little bit ago from my 2 mile walk with my grandmother. She is such a sweetheart! :)
