Time for some REAL snow photos

#1 Postby azsnowman » Sat Feb 09, 2008 6:04 pm

I drove to the high country today (higher I should say LOL...10,000 feet) and tried to take some photos but I couldn't find a place to pull over due to the SNOW  As you'll see, these were taken from inside the moving car! Also...there's some photos of Flagstaff on Thursday! Some are of the San Franciso Peaks (Az's highest Mtns at 12,200') and some of Lowell Observatory where Pluto was discovered! ENJOY!

Great pics, but what's all that white stuff?

Snow in Central Alabama. Haven't seen this in quite a while. We're lucky when it rains..

Looks like a beautiful day for a drive. Those snowbanks are awesome.

It was a PERFECT day! Temps in the UPPER 40's (first day since 4 December!), today's even NICER...forecast highs in the MID 50's  ! This is first time in over 20 years that ADOT had to use their SUPER BLOWER! It's this HUGE Catepillar front end loader mounted with a 8' wide, 10' high blower on the front of it! I found out today that those snowbanks on Hwy 260 are 11' tall...I almost freaked out driving cuz you couldn't see diddly squat other than snowbanks...claustrophobia perhaps?

What beautiful pictures. The scenery is awesome. Makes me shiver though looking at them. It was 75 here in Tampa and I had a coat on in the morning. In the afternoon when I went on the porch, I took a blanket and wrapped myself up. It was a beautiful day but everytime the wind picked up it gave me the shivers. Florida born girls don't have any tolerance for cold.

Nice, Dennis. I'm ready for spring too. Our van is white from all the salt.
