Manderville Louisiana Mayor Eddie Price receives $500.00 Wal Mart gift card from toys-for-tots fund in 2006 while no toys were purchased.....others receive gifts too, children don't get squat.

This is absolutely disgusting! It angers me to no end. How dare they?

I have never donated to toys for tots. My kids school does a fantastic donation tree. They actually take the needy children (foster kids, orphans, etc) to the store to pick out certain items and write them down. They then make ornaments that state the item and our children (with parents permission) pick the ornament from the tree and we buy that exact thing. It's always great to know I bought something that the child actually wants, like this year it was a pink watch for a girl and jeans for a little boy.

Can you tell me if this anyway affilated with the Toys for Tots run by the US Marine Corp Reserve or if this was local Louisana organization? I read the article it looks it isn't affilated with the Toys for Tots run by the US Marine Corp Reserve. I do donate toys and money to the US Marine Corp Reserve. I saw the subject heading and blurb and was perplexed for moment why they would do something like this.
