Man Says He Found Rat's Head in Can of Green Beans

Link to the video that shows it

A Beaumont business owner says he found the head of a rat inside a can of green beans.

The man was catering a wedding this past Saturday when he opened the can of Allen's Italian Green Beans and says the rat's head fell out.

He doesn't want to be identified. He's afraid of hurting his catering business.

"It could hurt your business, even though it's not my business's fault," said the man.

The man bought more than 20 cans of green beans. He was afraid to use any of them so all of them went to waste. The man says he called Allen's. He says a company representative offered him $25 and some gift certificates.

"It was insulting. I'm gonna pull a rat head out of your green beans and you're gonna send me $25 to buy more," said the man.

The rat's head may not have hurt anyone, but this caterer says he's glad he found it before the wedding party. He's still wondering what happened to the rest of rat.

A representative from Allen's canning company has not offered a comment.

I hear so many stories that make me sick. Maybe I'll just quit eating altogether. If you buy food processed, you get rat's heads and other foreign objects. If you buy it fresh, you get salmonella. If you eat out, you get food prepared by some loser who just scratched his butt.

Another rat head was found inside a can of green beans. Earlier this week a Beaumont business owner reported the incident.

A Utah woman says it happened to her too.

A woman out of Utah says she found a rat head inside a can of the same brand Allen's Green Beans bought from the same store, Wal-Mart. Time in Utah. It happened in 2007.

The Beaumont man and the Utah woman both say the company sent them packaging material to return the rat heads to the plant.

They also say the company sent them letters asking them not to report the incident in exchange for money.

"It's horrible. really horrible. Something has to be done. I've heard there's more than just me and her also," said the Beaumont man.

A representative from Wal-mart says the Beaumont store immediately took the Allen's Green Beans off its shelves.

I think Allen's Green Beans are about to get a sharp decrease in sales. The more the news spreads, the worse it becomes for the product.

I don't usually buy Allen's since Green Giant Kitchen Sliced are my favorite canned green beans, but I do have a can of Allen's green beans in my cabinet. I don't think I was the one who purchased it, though. Anyone want to open it up and see if there is a rat's head in there? lol

Rats (and cockroaches) are very smart. It has been stated that they are the only creatures likely to survive a nuclear war. Who knows, it might be a good idea to accidentally ingest a rat or two to help us acquire their smartness!

You all know you consume rat hairs, bug parts, and feces in your processed foods every day, right?
