Pray please

#1 Postby dizzyfish » Thu Sep 11, 2008 7:54 pm

This is really not OT but I didn't want to congest the tropical forum.

Please say a prayer for our family, friends and neighbors in the path of Ike. I know we have a very good (and large) prayer family here. I just thought this might be helpful for some.

May God help all those in the path of this storm.

Same here, I stepped up my storm/wx prayers a few days ago. But I'll keep them coming!

I too have been praying for our Storm2K Texas members. I pray they all evacuated before today.

I'm reading articles online and watching reports on the news. The people who chose or still choose to ride out this storm - OMG! I just hope they will be fine.......I just read about the group riding out the storm in a bar somewhere in TX near where Ike will hit, drinking as if it's a regular Friday night. Shame on that bar owner for staying open in the first place! Anyway, I guess I'm just a little shocked that even though folks have been warned to leave, they choose not to (and not for monetary, health, or pet reasons but rather because they believe it won't be a bad storm, again - OMG!)....

Sometimes human nature is a puzzle.

I would have been gone a day or two ago! LOL

But to get serious again, still praying.

Duckie, Kelly, Kathy, David, JenBayles - if you all are reading this, please know you're ALL in my prayers!

I have been going through the same exact thing all day. I can't stand to watch the news and see those people in harms way not caring/knowing if they are in harms way or not. It is just making me sick!

I surely hope that all of our S2k family that may be affected stay safe!

Thanks for the prayers everyone. It was a hellish night and morning, but we are ok. Jason and Kelly are ok. I don't know about Jenbayles but where she lives was not an evac zone so hopefully she is ok too and just without power. Last I knew about Duckie she was headed North Wednesday or Thursday.

So Glad to hear that you are A OK. I don't wish hurricanes on anybody and I hate that you had to go through IKE.

Hurricane Ike does not even compare to the Hurricane I went through in 1960, Hurricane Donna. Since that storm, I pay attention to weather reports when these storms start coming off the African coast. When you are not even 5 years old and one of these storms hit, it makes a big impact on you.

Yes it does!!! I was 6 or 7 when Hurricane Flossy came through the Gulf Breeze/Pensacola area and will always remember it. The next I remember is Donna because we were watching it like hawks just like you said even though Donna did not affect us. I now have 50+ years of Gulf Coast tropical cyclones under my belt including 4 direct hits or close enough(like within 20 miles) to call it one. I could go another 1000 years without one thank you!!
