We need help everyone

Lee and I live on the small island of Vieques 6 miles from Puerto Rico. We have about 9,000 residents. We also have only 6 police officers for these 9,000.

In the past month we have had 1 murder (last year 12) , countless gun wielding robberies, that last one at Al's Mar Azul when it had 24 people inside enjoying what they thought was a great peaceful evening. Al was pistol whipped when they tried to lock the doors. It could have gotten worse. The month before Cedric, who owns the grocery store on the island had his wife being beaten before he allowed him to take them to the store where they got 60K from the safe.

I mention these as only 2 horrific accounts. They happen daily to tourists, homeowners but if I named them, they would just be your Mom or Dad, Sister, Daughter, Son.

We are asking everyone to go this the petition I am putting below to sign. You do not need to be a resident but as the person from this island that stays with you in hurricane season I beg you to sign it.
