I just love Winter.......that said, mmmmmm that's a bit too cold even for me! LOL Sure puts it in perspective, doesn't it? Makes you appreciate your own locale a little more.

I certainly wouldn't want to live there but I would like to experience it for a few days just to see what it's like. I can't even imagine what 92 degrees below 0 would even feel like. Low 50's is cold for us here in the deep South.

I agree with Bill....somewhere between 50° and -30° is JUST peachy......anything hotter, anything colder, forget it....I'm at my prime when temps are around 40-45°, I feel better and dang sure LOOK a whole lot better!

Dome C currently at minus 89ºF ---

Unfortunately I haven't been able to get the Vostok, Antarctica observations in a long time ... last year, Vostok observed a temperature of -110ºF, which isn't the coldest they've ever been ...

FYI, Vostok, Antarctica, has the world's record coldest temperature of -126.9ºF ...

I believe the phrase "instant frostbite" would describe someone who stepped outside on that day. And can you imagine the heating bills??? :o

That is ccccccooooollllllddddd! Not for me, for sure. Anything below 50 chills me!

I used to have a weather acquaintance who would send me pictures and data from Point Barrow, Alaska, every so often just to remind me how cold it was there. That young lady who sent me that was a native of Louisiana, so I often thought she must have gone into shock when she returned from her year at the top of the world.
