Prayers needed

#1 Postby Pburgh » Thu Jun 18, 2009 9:45 am

With the economy and the state of the steel industry, our company has been having a great deal of financial difficulty lately. Last night we were hit by a flash flood and have considerable damage to not only customer's steel but also our equipment and slitting lines. I don't know if our company can endure this. We need all the prayers you can muster.

My thoughts for you in your time of need that your company may endure. We all understand how shifting sands unsettle us.

Peace,

Thanks everyone. Our heavy gauge line is still under some water. Our "work horse" line is fine and we will bring back the crews on Monday and hopefully begin again. We have managed to clean up most of the mess but now have to inspect all the coils in house to determine how much damage was done. All of the material in our facility belongs to our customers. This totals about 3500 tons. The material that got wet was mostly galvanized which we had cut to the customer's specifications. When galvanized steel gets wet it develops a white rust. We will have to unwrap all the material, check it out and either reprocess to remove damage or, hopefully, rewrap it and feel a great deal of relief that there is no damage. This all involves a lot of time and money.

My prayers are also going out to the people in this area whose homes have been affected by the flood. Thanks God no one was hurt but it is so devastating to them financially. Most of the damage was to the business' in our industrial park.

Thanks
((HUGS)) to you all
