My father's health is in a tailspin....
I think just about everyone here at Storm2k knows about my father's lung cancer ... the last couple of days, and part of it comes that I had to go back to work today after being able to spend 2 weeks with him on my vacation. This morning, he had several anxiety spells, and when I got home, he was happy to see me. At times, he's very incohorent of his surroundings. My stepmother (and my father's wife) stayed with him all day today. Hospice came over as well today and installed an oxygen machine for him to use. About 7:30 pm, the full array of emotions finally got to me and I broke down, including being sick on my stomach.
I do not know how much time he has left on this earth and he may be called home very soon. I'm having a hard time dealing with this right now, so I hope that, as many of you have done before, I need some prayers for him, my stepmother, myself, and for all that love and know him.
Thank you,
Mike Blanton a.k.a. Stormsfury or SF.

Storm, you have my prayers, buddy. You know that I
watched my father go through the same thing, last year,
and, it is so truly very hard to see a parent grow sick.
It's perfectly ok to cry when you need to - that's the
loving human side responding, my friend. Your Dad
needs so much wonderful, loving care, right now.
My prayers are with you!

You have every right to breakdown and cry about your father's situation. I am so sorry to hear that he is getting worse, but just know from the statement that you made that "he seemed happy to see you", that you are providing him with alot of joy on your visits, thus enabling him to forget his pain if ever so briefly. Your father, you and the rest of your family are in my prayers!

I've live with my father and stepmother. I figure since I have no children and am single that this is the best for me and my father. He was very happy when I was on my two week vacation that I could be at the house to take care of him during that timeframe. His anxiety attacks kicked in during the morning and even worse when I went to work. Right now, he's finally sleeping and has the oxygen tank hooked up. Hopefully a good night's rest and easier breathing will help him to feel better tomorrow. I'll try to enjoy the time I have left while he's still with us on this level of existence.

Mike.....I have no words to offer tonight, I fully understand your situation and like everyone else has said, A man needs a good cry every now and then.......there is NOTHING wrong with showing your emotions, NOTHING!
Rest assured Mike, your father will be in my prayers along with the rest of the family...

I and my family are with you as well; it was not so long ago that I lost my Dad to kidney failure...FEB 99...and I pray that He will give you strength, and peace to your father.
Thanks everyone and to you, Bill, for which I've had a chance to read your situation as well, and wish I could do more for you.
You are also in my thoughts and prayers and I pray that this injustice served onto you and your family will be rectified and that you will prevail victorious in your fight for what we all know is right.

Mike......my prayers join the others being offered here. It's so hard to watch someone you love suffer. Your time together is so important now......make sure you have no "I-wish-I-would-have" feelings.....be there when you can for both of them, but remember to take care of yourself as well.........p
