My Norton virus scan has detected and quarantined 8 such E-mails within the last three hours, all from different addresses. These came in on our "home" service, none through my Hotmail account so far.
None were opened or read; I sent them all to Symantec, then deleted them.
Some people have nothing better to do with their time than cook up new ways to hurt others...

I can't even download 9.0, "not enough ram."

I've recieved a dozen since dinnertime -- all containing the phrase "details enclosed" ....in an "octet stream" attachment.
Webtv's slow browser can't even open those type of attachments, but I forwarded one to sis...and she said her virus alert was set off -- and ALL of the emails I recieved were the same....except all from different sites....music store sites, cosmetic company, a weather group, and several individuals I've never heard of (i.e. - Janet Turant; Mary Steed)

Prodigy (SBC Yahoo) has a "Bulk Mail" folder and it filters out the spam for you and those that you identify as spam. It did give me a message that one of those !?&*^$ viruses listed in the article was caught. I'm updating everything anyway.
I'd like to give the person who created this little bugger a virus...

Up to 21 infected/quarantined/deleted E-mails so far...all of them with W32/Sobig.F@MM virus. This sucker seems to be "high probability of spreading", but my scans have succeeded in identifying it and quarantining it every time.
From Symantec, I learned that it has a two-week life, if it gets into a PC...

I am just FED UP with these VIRUSES, WORMS, whatever!! GRR!!
Our laws against these cretins that have got all that time in the world to go write up a frickin virus have got to be strengthened!!! Let's put some sharp TEETH in our Laws!!! Find the miserable excuse for a human being that wrote it, try 'em in a court of Law, then lock 'em up and throw the $#@^ Key away!!!! I don't have a lot of money to go buy all these anti-virus softwares!! I HATE those $%^&$@ low-lifes that have got nothing better to do than spend all their time writing these destructive viruses!!! Geesh!!
I'm really sorry for my outburst, but gosh, I spent 14 hours trying to get my comp to work from that World Wide Worm just a week ago!!!
I am not a happy camper
Now there is another new virus out?
I hope not

A computer virus infected the networks and servers at my workplace yesterday. The lost productivity for the thousands of employees who depend on the computer has no doubt cost the company quite a bit of money. I sure hope the person/people who created the virus will one day understand how truly unfunny this is.
