We got a Wii!

#1 Postby JonathanBelles » Mon Dec 28, 2009 2:00 pm

For my mom's Christmas, I got her a Wii + Wii fit and Wii Sports resort game. I have honestly lived with these games the last few days. I am not a video game person, and I really would not consider this a video game, but more of a life changing game. The Wii Fit Plus is incredible. If anyone is looking to loose weight, gain flexibility, gain balence, lose fat, or just have fun...this is for you. Wii Fit tracks your BMI/weight from day to day, and sets goals for you. It literally trains you to a better body for almost free, and its fun. Some of the activities on the Wii Fit include Yoga, an obstacle course, strength building and stretching, balence tables, skiing, snowboarding, Kong Fu, Jogging, Step, band leader, cycling, and 150 more!!! My mom lost two pounds in a few days!

Wii Sports Resort is more fun oriented, but it gets you moving too! You can wakeboard, play basketball, golf, frisbee, bowl, canoe, fly, play table tennis, and more. The more you do, the more challenging it gets, and the more activities you open up. I bowled for a few hours, and it opened up 100-pin bowling, which instead of knocking down 10 pins each frame, you now have to knock down 100! Its a lot of fun, and its addicting.

The wii itself makes you move the way it is set up. It is amazing how realisting this system is. For instance, in the Wii Fit Cycling track, you have the Wii remote sideways in your hands like handlebars. Then you are standing on the Wii Fit board and you are basically running in place like you are pedalling. After awhile you forget you are not on a bike.

I recommend this game to everyone, no matter your body size or shape, or your previous fitness level, or if you just want to have fun!

We love our Wii! We got it Christmas 2007. We got Sports Resort for Christmas this year, but I haven't played it yet. Sounds like it's a lot of fun. I really like the regular Wii Sports, so I'm sure I'll like the Resort even better. Another one of my favs is Mario Kart. I played old school Mario as a kid and have always loved the Mario games. Mario Kart has been a favorite since the N64 days. We got Rockband 2 for Wii this Christmas as well and it's really cool. A nice step up from Rockband on PS2. We were given Beatles Rockband Wii as a gift a few months ago from someone who mistakenly thought we had Rockband on Wii, but we had it for PS2. So we had to get the Rockband Wii Bundle so we could play the Beatles Rockband game. LOL

We have Wii fit, but I haven't played it very much. It was a lot of fun (and tiring! lol) when I did, so after all the holiday splurges, I think I'll be doing it a lot more! I'm not sure what the difference in Wii Fit and Wii Fit Plus is, but we just have Wii Fit. It tracks your BMI, weight, sets goals, etc.

My mom got my dad a Wii and Wii Fit Plus for Christmas. My sister got them Sports Resort. My mom was afraid he wouldn't play much. We bowled a lot on Christmas and he woke up the next morning and asked her, "Can you get that bowling thing going again?" yay, a winner! He has since tried basketball as well and enjoys playing that now too.

Here's another thread on here about the Wii: http://www.storm2k.org/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=99415&p=1674167&hilit=wii#p1674167

We got a Wii late November 2007. I do not use that often ( well when the nephew's come over) and the wife did for awhile. She lost interest in it, until there was new More Active Wii and Wii Resort. Now we have not used it yet ( she is starting her pledge to use is January 2) but I look forward to seeing the graphics.

I just got back from the Bowling Alley. The last time I went bowling (last fall) I averaged around a pitiful 60-70 or so. This time my high score was 120, and my lowest score was 87. I really think that the wii sports resort bowling games (all 3 of them) helped.
