Four employees at a YMCA office were hurt today when a parking attendant attacked them with a machete, Houston police said.
The incident happened around 10:30 a.m. at the YMCA International Service office at 6300 Westpark. Police were told a man wielding a machete was fighting with the staff, and at least one person had been stabbed.
The man with the machete was arrested, police said. Two of the victims were taken to Ben Taub Hospital, where one was listed in critical condition, while the other was in fair condition, hospital officials said. It was not immediately known where the other two victims were taken.
It is not known what prompted the attack. No further information was available this afternoon.

How sad.
That pretty much sums up my feelings on the issue.

The axiom that "Bad news IS news" sickens me...we rarely hear anything good, or positive at all about the 99.8% of people who are going about their business, helping others, etc., etc.
But, wield a machete/gun/knife/AK-47/M-16/bomb/whatever, and you are "guaranteed" first-page, bold-type coverage.
