Why Bad things Happen

I hope this doesn't offend anyone, I know this is not a religious forum......but in light of every thing that's going on in the world, our wxbuddies in trouble, all the turmoil in everyone's life here at storm2K....I thought this was justified!

I receive this every week, it's from Sumner Wemp out of Dallas Texas....enjoy and MAYBE, just MAYBE we will come to understand why "Bad things happen to Good People!"

Society- the world brings tribulations

This world is not my home
"In the world ye shall have tribulations, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world" John 16:33. We are in the world but we are not of the world John 17:16. There are, by far, more martyrs for Christ than ever before. "Ye shall have tribulations" and we are seeing more of it by the day. That great song is so true, "This world is not my home, I'm just a passing through, if heavens not my home, then Lord what will I do."

The world hates us
"Marvel not my brethren, if the world hate you" 1 John 3:13. "If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own; but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater that his Lord, If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you" John 15:18-20. You can count on that. The more Christ like you are the more conviction you are to this world and they will hate you for it but don't you DARE compromise your convictions and concern for the lost of this world.

Don't ask what's going on when you face fiery trials "Beloved think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you; but rejoice inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy" 1 Peter 4:12, 13. Now this isn't popular preaching today. People want to hear health and wealth preaching. I have news for you. It ain't so. "Yea and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution" 2 Tim. 3:12. "For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him but also to suffer for his sake" Phil 1:29. BUT, "If we suffer, we shall also reign with him" 2 Tim 2:12.

This reminds me of what is going on right now in Alabama. Someone decided to sue because of a 10 Commandments Statue displayed at the courthouse. Unfortunately, the idiot who filed suit won in Federal Court. The reason I mentioned this is because you put "I hope this does not offend anyone" in your first line. If God offends, then do not read it.

Thank you Dennis! I needed that! The Ten Commandments fight going on in Alabama is making me sick! I am so proud of Judge Moore for saying "No, I am not removing it!" What a stand! More people need to take the initiative to get the word of God out to those who need it, we are in trouble folks and there is ONLY ONE answer!

Ok, then...the Constitution gurantees us "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness"...Life, we have; liberty, at least for now; as to "happiness", we can pursue it from here to ---- and back before we come to the realization that it begins within US.
