Well as you will see i am on a big rant about big buisness..............Why you ask??????????..........Well lets begin with why most of us our here at Storm2K!!!! Besides the great atmosphere:)...........Weather?????? Well now i see our big brothers out there (Govt) is now starting to make us NON METS pay for what used to be free info such as past weather events!!!!!!!!..........Kinda makes you think who is behind this and how far will it go...................Well here is part of what i think it is.................Places such as accuweather (who btw is the originaters for pay weather and probably behind the push for the govt to do this) (JoeB), TWC and other big guys outthere who dont want any compition from guys like us for instance........................Yea now you wanna go look at some past weather info for past climatolgy for your area via cdc and some of the other govt sites? you have to fork over 40.00 bucks thats unless you are a MET???????????? Which means unless you are associated with big broadcasting networks or nws or any place that can afford this service you cant get a thing any more from OUR tax dollars payed for govt sites!!!!!!!.......................And i do believe i see signs of it comming elsewhere with these govt sites and others asking for a password which in some cases is still given at the moment for free.......(sats, and a few other usefull weather info).........................So i guess the little guys tax dollars dont account for anything anymore????????............I do welcome any better ideas of why this is happening btw...............Mine is pure speculation btw.............

i agree, it stinks. the govt is supposed to work for us. afterall, we are the ones whose money is being confiscated to pay for govt. all those websites should be no charge and available to every taxpayer.

Wow, we already pay a good amount to access the internet, now we have to pay to access information that was free to receive, meaning we never paid for the weather in the first place, now we have to pay for the info about it..ridiculous

If I am paying for the weather via the internet, then I better have some control over it. Will $1000 be enough for a nice late February 2004 blizzard along the east coast?
