I guess I'm going to put this bluntly. We have enough funds to pay for the month of March and that's all. If we don't get some donations going we can't keep the site up pure and simple. Unfortunately I can't afford the $219.00/month out of my own pocket. Our members have always come through and I hope this year is no exception.

I'm going to make a suggestion here. We have probably 2000 active or somewhat active members who post out of the over 10000 members we have. If every one of those "active" members donated just $10 that would be $20K in the bank to keep us up and running for a long time. If each one of those "active" members donated just $5 that would be $10K that would keep us going for at least a couple of years. We know that times are hard for many, but if you would like the resources of STORM2K to continue to be available to you in the future we need a lot of people to step up and give us a donation. This site is run SOLEY on donations. We have no other source of funds. None of the staff is paid. Those are the facts. Will you please help us? EVERY donation helps, no matter what size it is. Mine is on the way.

Marshall also posted his snail mail address so people can send in donations that way. If you are sending a check by snail mail it needs to be made out to Marshall Frank. I can assure you it goes straight into the account from there. That is how I always make my donation.

you guys need to foster the giving of larger gifts with a special supporter tag. how about a challenge to supporters to give $219...enough to keep the site running for a month. and in return that donor gets a special tag showing that they gave at that level. think of it as buying a round at the bar. i need my storm2k. i gave meaningfully last year when the paypal account was down. but i must admit i feel somewhat reticent if such a donation still wouldn't allow the site to survive to hurricane season. that said, if the situation is as described, we need some folks to jump (and i am willing) and it would only take a few one month club folks to alleviate this issue (no more than one half of 1% of the regular posters).
