Breaking all-time records in every country shown. I went with my sister to watch it at the midnight premiere and it was great! Not a big Harry Potter fan like many that were present in the theater but it had a great closure to the story.

I have to tell you...I resisted Harry Potter for 10 years. REFUSED to read the books, had 0 interest in the movies, face palmed anyone who wouldn't shut up about it, told people I had no interest in the fantasy genre, etc. etc. My sister told me she would read one of my favorite books ('From Sea To Shining Sea' by James Alexander Thom) if I read the Entire Harry Potter series. I told her she was crazy, but I'd do it...Rolled my eyes through the first book, the 2nd and 3rd I declared "cute" and got HOOKED after the 4th. Cried at the end of the 7th book.

I'm now officially a Potterhead after 10 years of resisting the hoopla. It is well-deserved hoopla, though. The movies are good, but nothing beats the books.

My sister still hasn't read the book I told her she had to read, though, which means a phone call is in order...

I will just wait and see it when it goes to the theaters on base. I think it plays on Courtney on the 22nd...and Futenma is either the 23rd or 24th and then that Sunday there are 3 showings at Kadena. I'm so excited!

So Stormy, you checked off base? Was the movie supposed to be in English with Japanese subtitles? I haven't been to one of the theaters off base, yet.

Good point about tickets costing $20 apiece all of a sudden with the IMAX theaters and everything else. Kinda inflates that half-billion dollar figure...
