This is such a welcoming forum, that I feel that this request is not too out of place... Asking for prayers and positive thoughts for my father, who has been diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal cancer. Consults are proving to be less optimistic than we had hoped, and right now, well... Prayers and positive energy are deeply appreciated.

He has started radiation for the secondary mass in his brain that is affecting the optic nerve. Once the radiation course is complete, he will begin chemotherapy immediately. We are all grateful for your support. Thank you!

Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts.
Dad finished his radiation course and started chemotherapy on Monday. He has tolerated it poorly, and has been admitted to the hospital for what they hope is only the weekend. He does still not want to see anyone, making it harder. Mom is exhausted. Not a good update, but...

Moderate update. Dad is feeling better from the chemo treatment, but has since developed pneumonia, and so is still in the hospital for a bit. But nightly conversations are stronger than last week even before being admitted. Still very tired, but that is expected. Both I and my husband thank you all for your continued prayers and supporting thoughts.

Quick update:
In Michigan at the moment. We came up to see him and be here for the 2nd round of chemo, but it has been postponed for a while. He is not responding as well as expected, and has had some allergic reactions to the pain meds. Right now we are praying for his physical strength and mental acuity. Liver is badly damaged and the radiation treatment for the brain tumors was only partially successful. Thought and prayers are welcome and a comfort.
