LARGO, Fla. (Court TV) — A naked napper got a rude awakening.
Donald E. Whitney, 53, was charged with burglary and exposure of sexual organs after an indecent incident at a Republic National bank last week.
Whitney reportedly entered the bank and proceeded to the men's room. While inside, he removed his pants, underwear and socks, according to police.
He then walked into the lobby of the building, stood in front of a wall and exposed himself to the dismayed depositors in the bank, according to the arrest report.
Perhaps tired from the alleged x-rated exploit, Whitney retired to a private kitchen area in the bank and fell asleep naked on a couch.
When police tried to rouse him, Whitney reportedly replied: "This is the bar. Go away," states the police report.
Despite Whitney's claim, he was in fact still in the bank and promptly arrested. After being held in lieu of $10,500 bail in Pinellas County Jail, a judge ordered Whitney released on his own recognizance.
He entered a not guilty plea and a psychological evaluation was ordered. No court dates are yet scheduled. Whitney is on probation for a 2001 battery charge.
