Prayers needed.

#1 Postby Amanzi » Thu Sep 25, 2003 6:28 pm

As most of you know, my husband and I managed to get our visa's extended (Praise the Lord!) well we are going to start on our green cards as soon as we can save the $8000.00 needed to complete the process.

My prayer request if for my Mom. My baby is due in March, and I desperately want to have my Mom over here with me to help me out and be with me for the birth. The problem is, is that she has no financial statements to prove financial stability. PLEASE guys, pray we can make a way for her to come and visit (if she goes to apply for her visa she looses the money she pays for application.. even if she is denied!)

If anyone is a lawyer or friends with a lawyer please ask them how we can do this... Im desperate to see my mommy again. :( :(

PRAY please the Lord will open the doors to make this possible.. all things are possible through prayer.

Bronnie, I will surely pray that your Mom can
come and be with you! I don't understand
the legalities in the situation, but, I do know
how to pray for you, my friend!

Oh Bron, I know nothing about law - wish I did. I pretty good at praying. I know how important it is to have your Mom with you. ((Hugs))

Prayers coming from the Burgh. By the way, how's that morning (all day) sickness?? Hope you're feeling well

Bron, I too hope your mother will be able to come and see you give birth to your baby.

I wish you luck with this entire situation, as well. :)

Bron, sending prayers up as I type.

How many children does she have? Sometimes, it's not so much about financial stability as it is family. The concern that the immigration services has is that they want to make sure a person who comes here to visit will have a reason to go back home after the stay here. A good paying job is one. A family back home that depends on that person is another.

Also, be sure she gets on it soon. It can take months to get it approved. She can also check with the consulate and find out about maybe getting a hardship visa. Sure, this isn't an emergency, thank God. But sometimes, with a little persistence, a person can get a visa quicker when they show what their need to come here is -- in this case, the baby and you.

Or if you know someone who could sponsor her visit, it might make things easier. They don't actually have to pay for anything, but they sign an affidavit swearing to support your mom during her visit (more of that financial stability stuff -- they don't want her to need to find a job here and end up keeping it and staying).

It bites that people who want to come visit legitimately have such a hard time getting here but people who want to come do us harm get in without us even flinching.

Best of luck and prayers to your mom, you, and the baby! :)

Prayers are flyin from here Bron!! I don't know what it is like not to have your mom around, mine lives practically down the street and I couldn't imagine life without her really close by! I will continue to pray for her to be by your side until it happens (which it WILL) :)

Thanks for the advice and the prayers. I was thinking (not knowing that much about immigration myself, but from looking stuff up online) It may be best for me to try find her a sponsor. She has just lost her house and has no job, so this is what my concern was for her when she applied. She is still married to my Dad and of course cant leave him for too long either, she also has my brother and his family over there as well. I wrote a letter for her to take with to the consulate stating I will be paying for her while she is here and for her airfare. But I have not given her my financial bank accounts or anything like that because if they had to look at them they would just laugh. So this is my predicament! I just want her over here for the birth and maybe a few months afterwards... but it is just sooo difficult and nerve wrecking to face the US consulate knowing that if she is denied the visa because of lack of paper work she does not even get the money back. I have never heard of a hardship visa... and if she does apply for one of those, it may look bad for her especially because of her financial situation... Im getting so frustrated with this whole thing. I just want her here with me... not to work or run for president  Just for her to see her grandson, me and of course help me and meet her new grandchild
