What's everyones plans for Halloween?
We're having a pumpkin carving party the day before. I usually do 10 to 15 pumpkins.

Same thing as years past, nuthin'! My sons 20 years old, my daughter lives with her mother....so no one to take trick or treatin'. As far as passin' out candy, in the 20 years I've lived in this neighborhood, I've had 15, YES....15 kids drop by the house, I buy the candy every year in hopes of passing it out, oh well.........more candy for ME!

I echo Dennis's sentiments. My little angels (sis's kids) are all in Oregon, and there aren't too many children around here....if I buy a lot of candy, I usually end up eating most of it (which isn't all bad
My grandmother and I are planning to play "trick or treat" with a couple little ones across the street (our neighbor's babies)....but they are so little (age 2 1/2 yrs and 16 months respectively), they'll likely be back home asleep before dark on Halloween night.

Last year my daughter Nina (16) and a friend wanted to pass out candy. They decorated for hours....her friend lives on a busy street w/o trick or treaters so this is the plan for a few years. They've stashed things in the basement and want to add to the decorations each year. Actually last year I was sort of sad - I didn't have anything to do for a few hours!!!! I wanted to wander up front to see the neighborhood little kids and their costumes but I was shoooed away....anyone want to hire me for a few hours? LOL I'll get this job back when Nina's off to college I'm sure....

We'll carve pumpkins with the kids about a week before, shop for costumes, and then on Halloween, I take them trick or treating. As our youngest (now 7) can go longer distances each year, our haul has been increasing each year too. We don't mess around with bags. We go with pillow cases. I keep threatening to dress up too, but all that candy would wreck my diet. Each year it's the same routine: Mom warns about not eating anything until we get home. Yeah right! Then the big production of "checking" all the candy. I remember my mother warning about the same thing. "Back then it was razor blades in apples." Now it's drugs on the candy. I think that the cases of tampered candy is so stupidly rare, that we should worry more about getting hit by cars.

I don't care if Michael is 17 now. I still carve pumpkins. We didn't do it when I was growing up. When I discovered Pumpkin Masters about 10 yrs.
ago, I started and can't stop. I go to craft stores that carry clay modeling tools and pick up a few things. Maybe next year I'll try to pickup a few of the Funkins (carvable fake pumpkins). That way I can keep them from year to year. Maybe I'll ask for some for my B-day Oct. 20th. Does anyone here eat the seeds? Not me.

Here in Scottsdale, the weather is always so nice that the neighborhood has a potluck out in the driveway at a nearby home...parents set up lawn chairs and the kids make the rounds through the group before heading on down the street elsewhere.
I've been in Arizona for six Halloweens...each one has had great weather. That is already more nice Halloween weather than I experienced in the other 51 years in Illinois!
Spoooooktacular!
