They Melt in Your Mouth, Not in Your Chopsticks

#1 Postby southerngale » Mon Oct 06, 2003 12:01 pm

OAKLAND, Calif. - Oakland resident Jim Hager will soon see his name in the Guinness Book of World Records after he consumed 115 M&M's in only three minutes. However, that wasn't the hard part. He gobbled them up using a pair of chopsticks. He broke a previous record of 112 Smarties eaten by Kathryn Ratcliffe in December 2002. For his efforts, he was given 25 pounds of M&M's courtesy of a local candy store that sponsored the event. Contestants had to follow some strict guidelines. They had to use wooden chopsticks, the M&M's had to be the standard variety and they had to be brought to the mouth one at a time in the chopsticks.

Eating M&M's with chopsticks is not something that would even occur to me. But it is impressive nonetheless.
