Bad Boy's Da Band Not Satisfied With Debuting At Number Two

#1 Postby TexasStooge » Fri Oct 10, 2003 1:43 pm

LAUNCH Radio Networks wrote:Bad Boy's Da Band's debut set, Too Hot For T.V., debuted at Number Two on the Billboard 200 albums chart this week. The set sold more than 203,000 copies, according to Nielsen Soundscan. The group fell just short of the Number One slot as OutKast sold another 234,000 copies of their latest release, Speakerboxxx/The Love Below.

LAUNCH spoke to group member Young City, formerly Chopper City, who shared that while he was happy with debuting at Number Two, he wasn't satisfied. "Number Two album in the country, it's a blessing you know," Young City said. "We could had Number One though, I'd be, you know, I'd feel like we the sh-t if we get Number One, though you know but Number Two is cool. But who remembers Number Two? Even though it's a good thing to me, but like I can't settle for Number Two."

Young City also explained that it takes a lot of hard work to be Number One and that he actually grew up listening to OutKast. "There's a lot we got to do to be Number One, dog," Young City said. "OutKast, them boys is beasts and they been in the game a long time now. You know I grew up on OutKast. To be like right behind them, that's beautiful baby."

Too Hot For T.V. was produced by Wyclef Jean, Tony Dofat, Sean "P. Diddy" Combs, and the Trackmasters, and features a guest appearance by Mysterious. The first single from the set is "Bad Boy This, Bad Boy That."

At least they're in the top 10, that's a good thing isn't it?

If Young City, uh, I mean Chopper City quit changing his name around so much maybe they would have debuted at #1. ;)

And yes... top 10 in the Billboard Top 200 is good. And personally... three weeks from now I won't remember who debuted at #2... or #1.
