Things your Thankful for

#1 Postby azsnowman » Tue Nov 25, 2003 7:45 am

With Thanksgiving just 2 days away, it's time to sit back and reflect on things your thankful for.

I'm so thankful for my wonderful wife, my God, Jesus Christ and my country! We are SO blessed to be living in this Great Country, no matter HOW messed up things have become. We have the right to free speech, to assemble and to worship God in any manner we wish.

My wife.....I "know" God put her in my life, hadn't she been placed in my life, there's no tellin' where I'd be right now!

I'm thankful for Gods ONE and ONLY Son so that we may have PEACE and Ever Lasting Life thru His Blood and Sacrifice!

Good topic Dennis!

I'm most thankful for:

1. My family! They are my life.

2. My health. Still cancer-free.

3. My faith. I'm a Catholic and it's been very tested for the past few years (priest abuse cases). My heart goes out to the victims. I refuse to use the word "scandal" for it signifies what the Church wants to do - sweep it under the rug. When it should be out in the open and offending priests need to be removed from duty and put in prison. JMO.

4. Our nephew is home from Iraq on a short leave.

5. Grateful I don't have to work right now (related to my cancer surgery from 4 years ago). An extra income would be nice but since we never got accustomed to one, we can make-do for now.

6. I'm thankful I found my way to the Storm2K message boards! Thanks Eric/Skywatch_NC for referring me to this fine place!

7. And I'm thankful for my wx friends here - you know who you all are!!! In this day and age when the Internet can be a scary place it is amazing to me we can nurture and encourage this family type atmosphere! My mom - who doesn't own a computer and think the Internet is like the old Wild Wild West - can't believe I have online-friends! I just smile b/c she doesn't get it.....

Dennis - I imagine we'll all be doing that. One more thing I'm grateful for.....if we were sitting down to a turkey dinner it would be cold for all the last minute mentions we'd all have. LOL

I am thankful for

1. That I am still alive
2. My children, who cheer everytime I walk in the door (no matter which door)
3. My wife who still (usually) loves me after 9-1/2 years
4. My relationship with God -- which can always use some improvement
5. I can just be me, I don't have to try to please people by being something I am not.

I am thankful for many things...but to narrow my list slightly...

I am thankful for:

1. My husband and kids. They are the most important people in my life. Without them, I wouldn't be half the person I am today.

2. My Parents and siblings (6 sisters and 1 brother) After years of being "not so close" to my siblings, I now have them as my best friends...especially my brother.

3. That everyone in my family is in good health.

4. For having the opportunity to fulfill my dream of becoming a nurse. This is something I have always wanted to do, but put off due to raising a family. Little did I know that my family wasn't going to go anywhere in any big hurry, so I better get my butt to work :)

5. Everyone here at Storm2k!

Have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone! :)

I am thankful for sooooo many things...it's really hard for me to come up with a list on the spot!!

First of all, in light of the last few days, I am very happy that my friend Joey is on his way to recovering and his life wasn't ended short like our family friend Bob's!! (See Storm2k Bar's last several pages for details!)

I am thankful for being healthy, thankful for still having my youth, thankful that my family has weathered the storm another year, and thankful for my job (even if my boss is rude).

I am thankful for the house that needs a new washer and new heating, thankful for the car that is beaten up, and thankful for the generic food I eat  ; because even though my things aren't perfect, I am SOOO blessed to even have the roof over my head and vehicle to get me where I need to go, and the food that keeps me going, as many people don't!!

I am ever so thankful to the men and women of our country who put their lives on the line to keep mine protected!! Many of them will spend this holiday in the desert somewhere, surrounded by no family, friends, or turkey!!

I am thankful for my relationship with God; though bad times have made me say before that I'm not a believer, he and I both know I am!

And last, but certainly not least, I am thankful to the person who on Feburary 11th sent me a link to a website called Storm2k....had I not gotten it, I would have missed out on many terrific friendships that mean the world to me!! God bless you all and may you have a safe and fantastic holiday season!!! :D
