hello everyone! got a message from someone this evening telling me about this place and what y'all have been up to since supposedly something went down at TWC and several of you were kicked out all at once. the person didn't go into detail nor am i curious as to what happened at TWC but just wanted to stop in to say "hi" and spend the evening clicking around over here since given the heads up. as for me, i haven't been by TWC much at all as i spend most of my time with various local and regional spotter and chaser groups based here in IL. i've also been focusing on volunteer activity as a bonafide SWOP for the NWS office based here in Lincoln IL (SWOP's are more or less in between spotters and COOP's) . aside from that though, i'm still drawing and doing whatever i can to make http://www.pawleewurx.com the best it can be as an entertaining as well as useful resource. so, with that, it's nice to see many of your familiar names and hope all is well for you. got this one in the bookmarks so rest assured, i'll be back! best wishes! Paul

Pawlee!!! Hey welcome to the Storm2K boards. You'll meet lots of nice folks here, some names you will recognize and make new friends as well. Enjoy your time here! I feel right at home at Storm2K. I wasn't banned from TWC, but many wx friends were. The bannings and general overall negative vibe prompted me to make a goodbye post. Like you I don't want to go into details, but things got a little ugly a few weeks ago at TWC boards. It was time for me to call it quits, for now anyway.

Welcome Pawlee. I was one of the individuals that came over from TWC. I wasn't banned or anything like extreme. When miss Mary talked about bad vibes, well lets just say, what an understatement. Thats why I'm here and I'm happy for it. This is one of the best boards I've ever been on. One of the reasons is the diversity of the people. They are great.
Enjoy your time here.I look forward to reading your posts.

thanks for the welcome!
you guys with the webshots albums have some very interesting pics! speaking of pics, i am excited for i recieved some really good photos in the mail today from my mom of the big snowstorm to dump across the NE. the pics she took are from their home in McVeytown PA and i cannot wait to get them scanned! anyways, thanks again for your welcome and do hope to spend more time with all of you here! p
(i betcha any money knowing the countless times i shoulda got kicked off of TWC but didn't, if i were there when the deal was going down i'd of been booted out the door too! saved by my absence but then again, the TWC messageboard content as far as i am concerned isn't what it used to be nor what i unfortunately have time for these days...)
(ps: is azsnowman still a mod over there? guess i could look but figured i'd just ask here instead...)
(oh yeah, hey Mary! whatdya think of this big ol' rain event that (at least here) shoulda been a big ol' snowstorm?)

Hi Pawlee!
Guess you were just south enough for rain, huh? My sister-in-law lives in Barrington, and they were getting hit with 6-10" of snow. She's mentioned several times that this winter has been unusually mild, for Chicago. Down here we've had a very snowy winter. President's Day weekend was the worst, ice, snow, you name it. Other than that, most storms produced 3 inches at a time, for an average. We haven't really had that one huge, predicted storm. Guess I should say yet, you never know what March will bring.
Yes, Dennis still a Mod over at TWC. He just returned to posting here recently. He's quite the busy man - posting 2 places!
Have to admit I lurked when all the trouble started and then regretted that cowardly decision. When a long time poster and former Chat Mod was booted, that prompted me to speak up and say good-bye. Haven't regretted that decision, not once! You're right, TWC boards aren't what they used to be. The possibility exists for that to happen again (if they'd be more tolerant of opposing views, specifically JohnAdmin., certainly not Dennis or TLC) but I'm not holding my breath!
Pawlee, take a look over at the Greetings, Birthdays, etc. Forum. They have a welcome topic going for you! That's one of the nicest things they do here - welcome a newcomer like that.
