france, russia, germany tell the us to stick it!!

PARIS (Reuters) - Foreign ministers from anti-war powers France, Russia and Germany agreed on Wednesday not to allow a resolution authorizing war in Iraq to be passed in the United Nations Security Council.

Announcing the decision, French Foreign Minister Dominique de Villepin said the three countries also agreed to back more United Nations weapons inspections in Iraq.

"We will not allow the passage of a planned resolution which would authorize the use of force," he said after a meeting in Paris with his counterparts Igor Ivanov of Russia and Joschka Fischer of Germany.

"Russia and France as permanent security council members will fully assume all their responsibilities," he added at a joint news conference with Ivanov and Fischer.

Asked whether France was ready to use its right of veto to block a U.N. resolution giving the green light for force in Iraq, Villepin added: "We are totally on the same line as Russia."

Ivanov said in London on Tuesday Moscow would not abstain on the resolution, which the United States and Britain may introduce next week, and warned it could use its veto power.

Russia and France are both veto-wielding members of the U.N. Security Council.

Ivanov also said that China, another veto-wielding Security Council member which last month supported a memo by the three anti-war powers urging more inspections, "shares our approach" on the Iraq crisis.

The ministers said in a joint declaration: "We strongly encourage the Iraqi authorities to cooperate more actively with the inspectors toward the full disarmament of their country. These inspections cannot continue indefinitely."

Villepin and Ivanov were originally due to meet alone in Paris in advance of a key United Nations meeting on Friday when arms inspectors are due to deliver their latest reports on Iraqi disarmament.

PLEASE MR BUSH, DONT GROVEL AND CRY TO THE UNITED NATIONS ANY MORE!! TELL THE COUNTRIES YOU CONSIDER THEIR DECISIONS FINAL. GET THE JOB DONE, FINALLY!!

I would tell them that since you don't support war to stay out of our way and not to expect to reap the benefits of a post-Saddam Iraq.

Since These Countries Support State Sponsored Terrorism

#5 Postby Aslkahuna » Wed Mar 05, 2003 3:41 pm

they and their citizens should be treated as such and every one bearing a French, Chinese, Russian and German passport should be subject to full security measures in all Public Transportation venues and Public Gatherings while in this Country. Additionally, the issuance of Visas to Citizens of these Countries should be severely limited or stopped and US Travel bans to these Countries issued by the State Department. There are other severe economic and diplomatic reprisals that are worthy of consideration.

I hope that U.S. financiers remember this at the next session of the International Monetary Fund; and Congress remembers this when foreign requests for funds are on the floor!

___ 'em, and the horses they rode in on! :grr:
