WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Secretary of State Colin Powell will reveal new intelligence Wednesday afternoon of what the United States claims is further evidence of Iraqi deception and determination to develop weapons of mass destruction, a senior State Department official said.
Powell's speech at a Washington area think tank will not be a "show and tell" along the lines of his February 5 presentation to the U.N. Security Council, the official said.
But the secretary will provide "similar" evidence showing Iraq's "active efforts to prevent the story [of alleged concealment of weapons of mass destruction] coming out" during interviews with Iraqi scientists, the official said.
Powell also will point to Iraq's "active efforts to continue production" of such weapons and "active efforts to hide" evidence of them, the official said.
