GameCube Sales Soar
Ladies and gentlemen, after a long hiatus we have good news.

December 16, 2003 - Nintendo of America today announced that sales of its GameCube console were through the roof for the month of November. The company also revealed that Mario Kart: Double Dash!! was the number-one selling game for the busy holiday shopping period.

According to TRSTS data, 754,000 GameCubes were sold during the month of November. This is particularly good news as it proves that the recent $99 price reduction is continuing to spur sales.
Though GameCube sales failed to outperform that of Sony's, which sold 850,000 PlayStation 2s, Nintendo did seriously one-up Xbox sales for the month. Microsoft's console sold through only 490,000 units.

Just as important, Nintendo's flagship GameCube title for the holidays, Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, was the number-one selling game in November with 528,000 units sold. This figure is made all the more impressive because the racer was out available for only two weeks of the month.

Game Boy Advance, meanwhile, sold through 1.3 million units in November, easily besting everything else out there.

I bought 3 GBA SP's for x-mas this year.

GameCube is the best Gaming Console on the market for the price, and the #1 game for it is Soul Caliber 2, I love that game

my kids have a gamecube and an xbox...Let me tell ya...the gamecube get's played with 90% of the time and the xbox just collects dust. Not sure why...but I believe it's because gamecube has more of a selection of children's games than xbox does.

Nintindo does have more kid type of games than Xbox. But as far as Technology goes for gaming consoles GameCube is more advanced in it's hardware, and decoding dept. only because it's the newest of the big 3, PS2, Xbox, & GameCube. PS2 was the first to market Christmas 2001 with Xbox following that spring then GameCube mid summer.

Plus as far as price $99 for GC is a steel for what your getting. PS2 does have more games than Xbox or GC but GC has been catching up.

PS3 is due out late 2005 ($500 smfp), Xbox2 ($400 smfp) has the same time frame. No word on a GC2 at this time.

Sony, IBM and Toshiba, will be jointly developing a new microchip. code name the CELL as it's platform.

Microsoft is to use The cinematic revolution RADEON™ 9800 Series, the fastest and most visually advanced 3D performer on the planet. A supercharged, 256-bit DDR memory interface and a thrilling 8-pixel pipeline generate the power to deliver real-time, Hollywood-caliber graphics for the most demanding next-generation games.

We got an x-box last x-mas and we're happy with it. Only problem now is that we have to upgrade memory to play the latest games. X-box also plays dvd's and music cd's. Do the others do that too?

The PS2 plays DVDs while the GC doesnt. Between my wife and myself...we have 4 gaming systems in the house...plus my computer. There isnt enough time in the day. We had 5, but decided to sell our NES, and now somedays, I wish I never made that choice. Can't really go back now and rebuy it since that was almost a year ago. Its probably been sold again.

GC is a JOKE IMHO it is the slowest system of them all and the only reason that they are selling so many is because they have slashed their games and the system prices as well. If you notice PS2 and Xbox are still around 199.00 there is a reason for this... they still sell cause peeps see that they are worth every penny.
I own a PS2 and LOVE IT! Yes it plays DVDs, as well as music CDs.
