Have you ever started sentences like this......

"I heard about that from a friend on my wx boards...."

or

"Someone was just talking about that on my wx boards.....:"

or

"On my wx boards, we discussed that....."

Okay now everyone, 'fess up!!! I know it's a downtime for the boards right now, but this past year I can't even count the times I've started sentences just like that. And each time my family gives me that look - OH MARY! - as if I need to shut this computer down and find some real face-to-face friends. I say "HA! My wx friends are the best there ever was/is, thank you very much!" It is funny though, as I begin these sentences, I end up whispering the last part - "my wx boards" or "my wx friends", b/c I know what's coming - howl's from my family. They think I am just nuts. Oh well.....win some, lose some huh? LOL

Mary...probably have done that, but I KNOW I have said...

"My online friends have been discussing....." or

"Some folks on the weather boards I know were talking about the same thing."

So...yes, I bring you, and them, into the conversation wherever it fits.

Steve - I knew I wasn't alone in this way of sharing news stories/funny jokes, etc. Just wanted to see too if others catch grief for this habit. LOL

Oooh, I am so guilty on this one. I do it ALOT, usually at least 2 or 3 times a day. Ken just kinda listens with one ear and it goes out the other, unless it's severe weather related, at which point he perks up a bit. I feel like I've got a huge extended family from the folks I've yapped with on here. And they couldn't be any better than real family, but they COULD be just as dysfunctional!!!!!

I said this just this morning, when someone asked for some advice -- "I don't know, but I have some friends online that I can run it by and will get back with you."

I do it too, but my family is very internet savvy so it is not out of the norm so to speak here...and in all places... SW Missouri! :lol:

At least two or three times a week, I will say to my wife "There was a topic on the weather boards about such and such". She thinks the wx boards are my mistress. :eek:
