Putting Christ back into Christmas
'Twas the night before Christmas, the eve of Christs birth;
Many people were resting all over the Earth.
The shepards were watching their sheep in the night,
When all of a sudden they saw a bright light.
And what to their wondering eyes should appear
But a beautiful angel, high up in the air;
His face was all shining; his garmets so bright
That the shepards began to tremble with fright.
But as he came nearer, the words that he said
Soon gave them to know there was nothing to dread;
He told them of peace, with no fear and danger
For their wonderful gift they would find in a manger.
So leaving their sheep, they went into town
To seek for this gift, they looked all around.
They came to the stable, the covers they lift,
And there in the manger....Gods wonderful gift.
So pure and so holy, so full of Gods Love;
They knew it was Jesus, Gods gift from above.
And so as we think of this Savior again,
May our Worship this Christmas not be in vain.
Let us love Him and trust Him;
There's none that's too small,
May the Lord richly Bless you,
Merry Christmas to ALL!

Here's another one I just received:
> TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE JESUS CAME
> Twas the night before Jesus came and all through the house > Not a creature was praying not one in the house. > Their Bibles were lain on the shelf without care > In hopes that Jesus would not come there.
>
> The children were dressing to crawl into bed, > Not once ever kneeling or bowing a head. > And mom in her rocker with baby on her lap > Was watching the Late Show while I took a nap.
>
> When out of the East there arose such a clatter, > I sprang to my feet to see what was the matter. > Away to the window, I flew like a flash > Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash!
>
> When what to my wondering eyes should appear > But angels proclaiming that Jesus was here. > With a light like the sun sending forth a bright ray > I knew in a moment this must be THE DAY!
>
> The light of His face made me cover my head. > It was Jesus! Returning just like He had said. > And through I possessed worldly wisdom and wealth, > I cried when I saw Him in spite of myself.
>
> In the Book of Life which He held in His hand, > Was written the name of every saved man. > He spoke not a word as He searched for my name; > When He said "Its not here" my head hung in shame.
>
> The people whose names had been written with love > He gathered to take to His Father above. > With those who were ready He arose without a sound > While all the rest were left standing around.
>
> I fell to my knees, but it was too late; > I had waited too long and thus sealed my fate. > I stood and I cried as they rose out of sight; > Oh, if only I had been ready tonight.
>
> In the words of this poem the meaning is clear. > The coming of Jesus is drawing near. > Theres only one life and when comes the last call
Well find that the Bible was true after all!

and you guys wonder why many people at WWBB look down on this board, it's not really all mushy and lovey dovey, it's that it's run by die-hard christians.
there is nothing wrong with that, but you should realize that 80% of the world is not Christian.
it's okay to post your opinion, but think about it, if you can post about putting christ back into christmas and how much you hate it when people don't celebrate Christmas, I should be able to post my opinion that people are different but we are all human and have the same rights to free speech.

As well you should voice your opinion woodstock, as you said, we're all entitled to our own opinions BUT......the biggest gripe we *Christians* have is everyone is trying to take "OUR" beliefs, "OUR Lord and Savior not only out of Christmas, The Pledge of Allegance, taking the 10 Commandments out of public places. Do you see Christians taking ANYTHING away from the Jews, Hindus, Muslims (well, I won't go there "LOL!")?? No.....nor will you ever see that! BTW......Merry Christmas and as j said, God Bless!

Has anyone condemned you for your views Woodstock?? And if people want to look down on this board, well then let them, its still a whole lot better in my eyes than any other board I have ever set eyes upon.

Woodstock, if people don't like S2K then they can leave. It's pretty simple. We've never wanted to be all things to all people and we're not about to change because someone doesn't like it. We've grown from nothing to over 1300 members in just our first year because people like what they see and enjoy the family atmosphere.
Personally I'm a conservative Christian and proud of it. May God bless you and yours this Christmas

Thank you for the compliment Woodstock... It is nice to be called loving and as for being die-hard.. well I would rather be a die-hard Christian than a flaky and half hearted one!
May you have a blessed, peaceful Christmas and New Year

streetsoldier wrote:BTW, Woodstock, your statistics are incorrect...2/5 of the world's population, or 40%, is Christian of one denomination or another. Recheck your figures before laying forth a supposition as "fact", OK?
2.0 million christians to 6.3 million people in the world is more like 30%, I did a search and found that there are around or just under 2 million christians worldwide.
My number which I gave of 25% is closer than yours of 40%.
And if i did say 20% I meant 25%.
If I said 20% I was equally as wrong as you for saying 40% when the actual figure is 30%.

stop posting false information.
Today there are two billion Christians, one billion Muslims and 15 million Jews in the world. It's ironic that these three faiths — the ones that seem to be the most at odds — are also the ones who are the most similar to each other. All three believe in a single God; all three have similar religious practices, and all three trace their roots back to the Old Testament's Abraham. Yet, just as three squabbling siblings, we can't seem to rise above our differences to appreciate what we share.
Catholics are in the same category as Christian.

I posted it wrong, as I said 2million christians but I ALSO said 6.3million people in the world, I meant billion for each stat so stop trying to squeak out your inflated stat of 40%.
You are to the point where you are making up stuff to make my number look low, which it is NOT as I have quoted above.
Do I need to quote world population as well to show you it is 6.3 to 6.4 million?

It would seem that you are the one fabricating data. I tend to leanb towards Streetsoldier's numbers from information that I am finding.

Huh? Religous symbols don't belong in public places. Period. Don't even get me started on Alabama.
