DEAN CANT say if osama is guilty????

#1 Postby rainstorm » Fri Dec 26, 2003 6:59 pm

he didnt have any problem making wild accusations about bush.
my biggest fear is that the terrorists will try to influence the voting by making attacks in sept/oct 04, knowing they would be much safer with "president dean"

Dean Defends Bin Laden

Democratic presidential front-runner Howard Dean spoke up on behalf of 9/11 terror mastermind Osama bin Laden on Friday, saying U.S. leaders shouldn't prejudge him before he's tried and convicted in a court of law.

Asked if he thought bin Laden deserved the death penalty, Dean told the Concord Monitor, "I've resisted pronouncing a sentence before guilt is found.

"I still have this old-fashioned notion that even with people like Osama, who is very likely to be found guilty, we should do our best not to, in positions of executive power, not to prejudge jury trials," he explained.

"I do think if you're running for president, or if you are president, it's best to say that the full range of penalties should be available," the Vermont Democrat added. "But it's not so great to prejudge the judicial system."

Earlier in the month, Dean sounded a whole lot less forgiving of President Bush, reminding a Washington, D.C. radio host that some believe he may have been complicit in the 9/11 attacks.

"The most interesting theory that I've heard so far - which is nothing more than a theory, it can't be proved - is that he was warned ahead of time by the Saudis," the leading Democrat explained.

I think it's disgusting for any candidate to use 9-11 for a political agenda. If this is the best the Dems have to offer, Bush is looking good in '04 (and I'm NOT a big GWB fan).

It's funny, people say that we cannot judge Jacko until he is either found guilty or innocent by his peers, but its a different story when we talk about OBL. Don't get me wrong, I think he is a wacko and he has claimed responsibility for these attacks, but in a sense, Dean is correct. If you are in a position of leading this country, don't you think you should abide by its laws??

OK, for my own opinion, it was a foolish thing to say. But so be it.

i disagree. the commander in cheif has to be able to recognize who our enemies are. this is not a criminal matter, this is war. this is why people are leery of putting our security in the hands of a democrat.
p.s-dean didnt have any problem repeating a crack pot theory about bush, unproven, by the way.

And now Dean is going to start talking about religion? What a transparent, soul-less, phony, opportunist! He's going to need people to tell him what to say, because it won't be coming from him.

The difference is Jacko is claiming to be innocent. OBL has embraced the desire to destroy us and as much admitted his guilt. Dean says stupid stuff on a regular basis. It makes me wonder if he was President, he would say stupid things that would effect our national security. Hitler never said he massacred the Jews, but I think we have enough to prove he did. Do you think Hitler deserves a trial before we d#mn him in history?

What he is saying has "Truth" to it.. In America you are innocent untill proven guilty.. But this is WAR and we are at WAR because the guy is guilty... I want a president in charge that says your guilty and we are going to get your lil arse no matter what it takes.. Not one that says well he may be guitly and we will keep an eye out for him

But I think that Osama and the #2 guy in charge of Al-Qaeda will be killed when we spot them in some cave before they stay alive so it will be academic what Dean is saying. And about the #2 guy he may be much more dangerous than Osama.

What the liar had to say later on :darrow:

dean flip-flops:

"As an American, I want to make sure he gets the death penalty he deserves," Dean hastily told the Associated Press, hours after NewsMax called attention to his bizarre comments to the Concord Monitor, which posted its interview with the leading Democrat earlier in the day.

Chad that is called damage control but the first words from him about Osama were his real thinking.

"'Dizzy' Dean"...nice moniker! I wonder which network will pick up on it first?

It looks like Howard Dean's numbers are going to slide, the things he has come out with these days. Saying things you are you going to say before actually saying them has no point.

Mark Twain said, "if you don't like New England weather just wait a minute."... then I hear similar quote for California's weather, now Missouri, not to mention other places. :)
