UPDATE FROM MY CHURCH

#1 Postby Josephine96 » Sun Jan 04, 2004 8:29 pm

Hi Storm 2ker's.. I am giving you my newest update on 16 year old Amber Barton and 21 year old Rachel Mayer...

The news is very good..

Amber.. was actually IN CHURCH TONIGHT. She had her surgery back on December 16th and all appears to have gone well.. She looks good as new.. I hope she stays that way.

Rachel.. now has strength to have her surgery.. But apparently she hasn't had it yet. I believe they are still waiting for her double lungs to come in. She apparently is in very good shape though for someone needing a double lung transplant.

If you have forgotten, 16 year old Amber and 21 year old Rachel are both girls who go to my church. Rachel had a pancreatic procedure done and Rachel is waiting for a double lung transplant. They both suffer from Cystic Fibrosis..

I am happy to share this good news though :)

AWESOME!!!!!! GOD BLESS THEM and you for sharing this with us. The power of prayer wether it be from the closest friend or family member or from a complete stranger is more powerful than we will ever know.

I am still praying for both that they recover. If Rachel is notified of a possible transplant, please tell her to enter the procedure witha postive attitude, it will make a big difference in her recovery if she does. My son went for his kidney transplant with the attitude , Lets roll and everything went perfect. He was 24 when his transplant took place and he takes his pill for the anti-rejection and since he was an adult , the puffy look didn't happen to him, but with rachel in the middle of puberty, it may happen to her depending on the medications she is prescribed.

I will keep them in my prayers. I lost a cousin to CF about 20 years ago. I know what it can do to a person.

Indeed that is great news. We like good news, especially at the beginning of the year. May they be blessed with all the good that life has to offer.
